All's not well at Club Mundine. Sonny is severely regretting his decision to go to rugby, although it has prolonged his professional sports career by 5 years and his earnings by 10. He thought, rather Khoder thought, he could hide out in Rugby for a year or so then be welcomed back into the NRL. Khoder didn't count on what happened.

Khoder was desperate to get his cut as Sonny's new manager, as Sonny's Dogs contract was held by the Orr brothers. Supposedly, he had a deal with another club, but it all turned to shit.

Once he repays his debt to Mundine, through the fights, then that will be it.

The Kearney and Williams families are close, real close. He won't be eligible to play until 2013, his contract with the Dogs expires on 30 September 2012. Hell will literally have to freeze over before Sonny will get any relaxation of his conditions from Greenberg.

If it were possible, he would be shot on sight. Even Willie Mason is more welcome at the club than Sonny, and that is saying something.

The dogs will take the cash the nrl will see to that, the nrl and the fans need these type of players in our game asap!And although i am a chooks loyalist, SBW is good for rugby league.

I reckon Scummy Bill probably has plenty of skeletons in his closet, he simply wasn't caught out. Unlike Carney, who's just one of those blokes who can't step a foot out of line without paying a price for it.

As an individual I suspect that Carney is twice the person that Scummy Bill will ever be.

And I hope the Dogs dig their heels in re Scummy Bill and don't relent on the current arrangement that he can't play in the NRL until 2013. Someone has to stand up to the cretin and have him take some responsbility for his actions, as noone else has.

I am not a SBW fan. I do like the way he plays his football however.

I have to say I saw SBW out one night/morning about 5 years ago at a popular inner city bar with someone who looked like a lower grade player, more than likely from the Bulldogs.

Every second person that walked past him stopped to annoy him and he looked to be handling himself pretty well considering the time and intoxicated state he must have been in.

There was another former NRL player at the same venue who was carrying on like an imbecile. There would have been a 5 metre radius around him as everyone steered clear. He could have learned a thing or two on behaviour in public from SBW that day.

As for his romp in the bathroom at the Cloey...who cares?!?! It happened and good luck to him!

I don't think anybody should be on their moral high ground throwing stones at a young man and young lady who were obviously attracted to each other at the time. Most guys would find it hard to knock back Candice Falzon, as many women would find SBW appealing. It happens!

Imadog has said as much in previous posts - Greenberg is the rock and the hard place when it comes to the issue of $BW not playing in the NRL until 2013 and I applaud Greenberg and CBB management for their stance.

Look at Carney's past. He's a fantastic footballer, and looks like he's turning his life around, but gee has he been a ****wit up until now.

SBW took the money, sure. It's not like he's the only one. And as for sex with Candice Falzon... can't say I would have said no.

It's silly to make a judgement on these two blokes based on speculation, especially when you conveniently choose to ignore a lot of what Carney did, simply because he's unlucky.

I hope Carney has successfully crafted himself into a better person, for the sake of himself and Easts. I reckon he has. But saying he's a better person than SBW on speculation about Sonny's skeletons in the closet, and the fact that Carney was unlucky, is ridiculous.

1. Guys like Burgess aren't going to stay on 275K (or thereabouts) per year. His contract will jump up into the 500-600K range, whenever he comes off contract, which would be around the end of 2012/13, so they'll need money to keep him. Ditto Dave Taylor and Isaac Luke.

If you believe Burgess is on $275K I have a harbour bridge to sell you.

The guy may be a tool but lets not get too far ahead of ourselves. He was one of the top backrowers when playing with plenty of room for improvement.


I would love to see him in the NRL.

He's a highlight machine, I dunno why anyone wouldn't want him in the NRL.

That's what was reported. Sure, there's probably a whole lot going on behind the scenes - money to his mother, brown paper bags, the whole schemozzle... but my point still stands - they're going to have to pay him a lot more to keep him, than when they first signed him.

Exactly, he is on way more already.. Both the Roosters and Tigers were told by his manager that bidding starts at $400K a season.. This is why both were majorly pissed when Souths announced how little he had signed for..
