AJC executive moves to Rugby League
    Dallas Baker
    Thursday, 20 January 2011

As the future board of the Sydney racing club has been announced, one of racing's most innovative and brightest marketers has been poached from the industry.

Bettina Brown, head of marketing and sponsorship of the AJC, has accepted a lucrative offer from the Sydney Roosters to become their group marketing manager.
Coming from David Jones as its general manager of events and promotions, Brown has been with the AJC since January 2009 and in her tenure has proved what a loss she will be.

Brown has been instrumental in many successful projects including Pink Stiletto Day, getting the once thought impossible crowd back to Warwick Farm, creating the feature family days at Randwick which has doubled the crowd, reinvented the punters' podium and jokes she sold out Epsom Day.

“It was because we had to shut the gates because of all the rain and no one could fit in the stands though,” she laughed.

“But seriously, I’m really proud of the work that I’ve done with the AJC and it has been a pleasure to work alongside such a dedicated executive team and hard working, creative marketing team.

“I wish Darren (Pearce), John (Cornish) and Michael (Crismale) all the best with the merger and development of Randwick.

“It is exciting times for racing in Sydney.

“The Roosters' role poses a great professional challenge for me and I can’t wait to get there and get into the season.”

Not only has Brown proved to be highly successful at her role, but has also been a great conduit for many different sectors, including the media, with communication with the AJC and has been largely responsible for putting the smile back into our famous club.

Her ability, sparkling attitude, fresh approach, drive and commitment is exactly what the industry needs in this most important time and will be sadly missed.

Our loss is the Roosters gain, hopefully the personality she brought to the AJC will be a lasting legacy and we can only wish her well.

Should be good, as it seems now there is no drive to get people to the game.

Our membership drives have been severely lacking since the Freddy's 5000 campaign. Hopefully she rectifies this. Souffs scum should not be tripling our membership.

As an AJC member I believe she did a good job there considering all of the politics that goes on.

She can't be any worse than the current marketing team...

Is Mark McInnes super conflicted on this!?

He was the CEO of DJ's and a board member of Super Racing Club or whatver they call it, and the ESDRLFC

The Roosters definitely need to do something in attracting bigger crowds to our home games, especially against teams such as cowboys, titans, sharks, raiders. One possible idea would be to get some really good pre game and half time entertainment, such as getting some big name singers/bands to perform and advertise it really well.

No doubt he is aware of what she can bring to the table and has been involved somehow.

Well done Mark Mc. Thanks for keeping the Roosters at heart!
I'm pretty sure John Camilleri the Steggles GM is one of the other board members.
The new Super Racing Club or whatever they name themselves have recently appointed a racing industry fella called Darren Pearce as their CEO. Each time i have heard him interviewed on radio i've been super impressed.
Wouldn't be surprised to see him replace Noycey when he decides to call it a day.

Darren Pearce has only been in racing five minutes. The STC CEO would be spewing.

Mark Mcinneses chick is hot, is ther any coincidence that his closest lieutenant at DJ's Damian Eales had to leave after he was named in the lawsuits too?

Maybe he can come and work at the Roosters too

They need to allow each ticketed membership to bring one kid in for free.

Either this or allow more family day events.

It's not like they are generating any revenue from empty seats so why not just fill it up?

I'm sure I read somewhere that Manly have decided that any child under 9 are entitled to free membership for 2011. Not sure if there parents have to be members or there's no strings attached.

Certainly sounds a good idea to me, and I don't have kids.
