Too many bogan memories come into view with that one.

Look Im a Jovi fan, but they severely missed the mark with this one. The song isnt great in my opinion. And NRL marketing or whoever decided has a lot to answer for.

I think a song like Hello by The Potbelleez would hit the spot with mosy fans and players alike., just what the crowd needs to fire up before a game, us old farts will be fired up no matter what, we need to attrcat the new generation of gen y coach potatoe to the game.

... or NRL picked themselves up a bargain with a song by one of the biggest names in the world that actually relates to football.

This song will appeal to a mainstream audience and has already generated a ton of publicity.

How can the NRL be dudded if you don't know how much they paid for it ?

I am a fan of Bon Jovi, but that song really isnt a good advocate for the NRL.....

It could pass as a team song....

I hope once it has some league footage it might sound a bit better.....

Ever thought that perhaps it wasnt about big names or about the teams but actually about Gallop trying to pass a message onto the AFL and the inroads they are making into tradition NRL turf......

the words this is our house, these are our people" sort of lend themselves to that.....

I saw Bon Jovi back in 1987 at the Entertainment Center, back when it was a viable Sydney rock venue, and they had already been around for four years.

                              That's 24 years ago.

Can't they get a more recent band?

At least Tina Turner was actually popular and well known back in the 80s when she did her turn.

You are implying that they are an old rock band. They aren't one of those bands doing a reunion tour the likes of Simple Minds. Their most recent album debuted at number 1 in the USA and they play to sold out venues year round all over the world. Statistically I can't think of a more successful rock band in the last 25 years. I went to that 1987 concert as well as the one last year and I brought along my Gen Y son who absolutely loves them. I had goose bumps with their old anthems as well as their most recent songs.

They are currently one of the world's best rock bands and the NRL have done extremely well getting them on board as they appeal to the older and younger generation.

I would have preferred the NRL used an aussie band but if they are going to go abroad then they couldn't have done better than Bon Jovi. The song will grow on people and that video IIRoostermanII put together shows what it will do with a bit of good footage behind it.
