I think Paul Gallen's comments sum it up nicely when he says in today's tellucrap that he believes all NRL clubs should agree to shield players from injuries in nothing games.

It is not as if trials are compulsory are they?

Don't individual clubs choose how many they play, who they play and where they play?

        Where does it end?

And how do we protect the players from training injuries, stop training?
What about surfing accidents in the off season, ban surfing?

If you're hurt in a trial match it's tough, but at least it's doing what they get paid to do, play.

        Chook.

Im pretty sure its compulsory to play at least 2 trials PTB. I have no link or anyfink though. From memory clubs do organise their own schedules though.

Trials have always been around and are in every sport I can think of, I really cant see them going away from our game any time soon.

Sheet happens I guess. Bad luck to the bloke.

We hear the same bleetings from the same sections of the media yearly concerning trials. Sells newspapers.

            You know it makes sense.

You can't ban trials nor can you limit them. Clubs are looking for every competitive advantage they can get and are well with in their rights to play as many trial games as they like. It obviously serves a purpose....

Clubs have more than 50 players circulating the 3 grades in one season, not like years gone by.

I like trials. It's like Christmas come early. Or late. You know what I mean.

You can do all the pre-season training you like, but nothing compares to match fitness.....Unfortunately, they're a necessary evil.

Well Well Well , what a load of CowShit , none of what has been said here is worthy of being called Bullshit apart from a few comments.

These guys are human beans kiddies , they are not machines, they break and if they continue to be used at their maximum they get worn out way before their usedate.

How much is Cherro ? 100 K what have we had from him in 2 years ? 1 1/2 trial games

The goal is to win the Premiership, is it not , and if it is, we need to have every single chance available and every single Player available , to use up players on nothing games including All Stars, SOO, Trial games is crazy

playing these games is a continious risk to our chances to winning the ultimate goal.

Fitness dosent come into it, they are already fit, they know the plays , they are fresh, we dont want them 4 games tired and with niggles before the main game even starts.

Stop your farken bitching.....We're not the only ones who play trial games!!
As for the comment about player's not being machines, they get paid quite handsomely for their effort's, so forgive me if i don't show the same soft cock sympathy you do!!

You can get injured at anytime of the year, on or off the field, not just at the trials.

Players get injured at training, cherro' would have been injured the same if those trials were season games. Players chosen to represent become better players don't they?? you obviously have never had anything to do with rugby league other than cheering waving your flag!!!!!!!!you stick to that its obviuosly what you do best.

Point is, if he gets injured on the last 10 minutes of the 1st game of the NRL season, he has contributed to the ultimate goal, he may have had an influence on the game and we may have won that game because of his input, he goes down in toy games, means nothing, that simple dont you think ? ...

And bedjerk or whatever your stupid name is, you dont know shit about me or my compete understanding of the NRL premiership and how it operates so please keep the personl insults to your self. If you have an opinion fine, but dont start on me coz I will hurt you ok ?
