Supermario, just on that comment of yours, if the Knights current revenue was already 10mil then you would think they wouldn't have any issues at all, however they do acknowledge they have financial issues?
yeah they do have financial issues, and thats with them getting a revenue of $10mill, and thats what i think is the whole point, if the deal was as the original papers, it would be their revenue + $10mill from tinkler, that would have them in a far better financial position compared to revenue + the balance to make $10mill

There will be more to come on this.
Tinkler and his advisers will wait for Newcastle to come back to the table.
He is in the power position, they need him to survive.
If they dont, welcome back Central Coast Bears, sooner than later.

It was very smeaky, Knights did well to read the fine print
There is nothing sneaky about that. The rule states that a minimum of 12 runners must run in order for a bonus to be paid.

Does your daughter ride for Toby Edmonds?

Could it be that a horse was deliberately pulled to remove the possibility of the payout being made. That would be sneaky. You know.. "Take $100K and come back next week"

              It was the Sheik's fault..

Everyone with a rule book knew what the conditions of the bonus were..

The Sheik has about 120 2yo's in work..He should've entered 3 more to ensure the bonus..Sepoy was a certainty anyway..

Back on Tinkler...He is the "Kerry Packer" of the future..

Newcastle are "off their heads" taking a punt with this man..

A club with the infrastructure & comittee problems they do can't afford to pass up the opportunities he offers..

The interesting thing is that Tinkler is portraited as the astute business man, very clever and very well off. Although this is the case in many of his deals, there is at least one open legal case against him and several stuffed-up deals that he has been part of that have left some very sour tastes in people's mouths.

I wonder if he is close to firepower or alan bond than Packer

Packer looked like Todd Byrne compared to Tinkler. The fellow is morbidly obese.

The current board will never ever take anything Tinkler proposes to the members, there's too many conflicts of interest involved. For starters the current major sponsor of the Knights is a direct competitor to Tinkler, secondly all of management would be jobless within a week if the takeover bid ever got through. The leaking of Tinkler chasing the likes of Snowden and Idris were no accident, this was a deliberate ploy by his group to get the public on his side and to insight a revolt against Knights management by the members when he pulled out of even meeting to discuss the issues of the proposed bid.

He'll either win and the members call a no-confidence against the board (I believe over 50 have already signed a petition to get this in motion - requires 100 members) and get them kicked out - or Tinkler's bluff will be called and his dash is done, for a while.

i wonder if there was an "influx" of members since the time Tinkler first offered the bid..........

Once you sell your club it's gone, why couldn't Tinkler pour money in without ownership?

I read comparisons to Packer and the only commonality i can see is they are both fat bastards. I know from within the racing industry there are plenty of people who think he a very tough bloke to work for who goes through staff at an unbelievable rate. He went though two trainers very quickly.
