The current board will never ever take anything Tinkler proposes to the members, there's too many conflicts of interest involved. For starters the current major sponsor of the Knights is a direct competitor to Tinkler, secondly all of management would be jobless within a week if the takeover bid ever got through. The leaking of Tinkler chasing the likes of Snowden and Idris were no accident, this was a deliberate ploy by his group to get the public on his side and to insight a revolt against Knights management by the members when he pulled out of even meeting to discuss the issues of the proposed bid.

He'll either win and the members call a no-confidence against the board (I believe over 50 have already signed a petition to get this in motion - requires 100 members) and get them kicked out - or Tinkler's bluff will be called and his dash is done, for a while.

They should not take his offer its full on bogus, the 100mill is a fantasy. He is getting the club for nothing under the current offer.

Not knowing all the details its hard to know which side is talking shit and which side isn't. But the mere fact that Tinkler and Co stated they hadn't approached Snowden but know it's revealed Tinkler did, he now tries to justify that lie by saying "I don't need permission to pick up phone". He also claims he never made an offer to Snowden yet Kade immediately after the call from Tinkler cancelled a press conference to "think about it"? Think about what, an offer from the sharks but no offer from Tinkler?

Personally I think the Knights board has done the right thing, although I also think they are in a no win situation. If, as it's been portrayed, Tinkler changed the deal and it wasn't going to be 10mill over and above what the Knights already raise in revenue, than like the Knights board I'd be telling Nathan to go grow another chin.

I always wondered why some rich guy would want to give away a full 6th of his weatlh for a footy club. Not even Crowe and Holmes a Court put that much into Souffs to become less of a basket case.

I believe Tinkler has tried to bully the knights board into a less than beneficial deal and they have said no which Tinkler is not used too, resulting in him throwing a really big tanny.

The $10 million per year for 10 years however was very deceptive, it wasn't necessarily $10 million of his own money guaranteed which gave license for Tew to twist it as he pleased.

Its always been $10m guaranteed as sponsorship revenue for the club (ie, if they raise $7m in one year, he'll top up $10m). Nothing has changed on that front as the Knights knew that all along.

What I suspect may have changed is how the Tinkler group define "sponsorship revenue" - I read somewhere that they want to include ticket sales as part of that sum

Who wouldn't? Any coach needs cattle and I would not be confident Wayne would take this squad on. He is a master coach and a master at identifying talent. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear though and while coaching the likes of Kurt Gidley must be appealing to him, I am not sure he would be attracted to the current roster . Why take that on when you are a legend of the game whose legacy will be talked about for generations and you have your pick of nearly any club in the competition? Having said that, I think I could be very persuasive with him!

I bet the current players can't wait to have him as the boss.
