He's in a really tough job and he's done a really good job. Boring, a nerd, not a RL person: all very valid criticisms. But he has been a steady hand in charge throughout a really tough time for the NRL.

Now that the league is relatively stable, it is the perfect time (with the IC coming in) for him to step aside.

But generally, he has made a very good fist of a very tough job.

He has no bias, unlike Ken Arthurson had towards Manly and is less likely to take a bribe, unlike Kevin Humphreys, and doesn't ride a bike...which is the only thing I can remember about David Moffat.

I give him kudos for handling the Carney thing well. Carney's close to a dipso, face facts, and needs to dry out, and Gallop made that a condition of not kicking him out of the game.
