i got the email message late on thursday.
i am pist off, they were,i in my opinion spreading the league love all over the world.
must be time for the nrl future contracts to be re-negotiated, IMO.
And the prospective buyers dont want any revenue leakage.
I always enjoyed the kiwi accents on the ads that appeared on the feeds......

How difficult would it be for the NRL to sell HD quality streams? An "online club membership" maybe? I lived overseas for 5+ years and would have paid a good coin. Instead I used NRL Fix because the only streams being sold didn't work (1 was just a link to some dodgy boot-leg satellite TV box you could buy, then they finally realised it was a fraud and gave us a stream that I paid for, only to find out you needed a Windows PC.)

I installed Windows on my Mac just so I could watch the footy and the quality was really bad! For a while I had a mate working for fox who would stream everything to me (HD and raw without ads... I'd occasionally see Gus blowing up at his crew during ad breaks.) Unfortunately my mate's boss told him he "might get in trouble" if he kept doing it. That stream was the gravy for a while!! Great memories...

The NRL needs to do what the NBA does with "league pass". $80 and you can watch every game of the season in HD.

There is a site for international fans where every game is live. $15 a month or $90 for the year. http://www.livenrl.tv/page/Home

I don't see why they can't offer this to Australian fans. Foxtel just isn't worth what they ask.

i just bought foxtel on xbox 360 which is foxtel streamed through the interent through your xbox to the tv, the price is awsome and quailty is awsome however there is only one fox sports channel called 'fox sports play' which combines all 3 fox sports channels and plays the best thing on at the paticular time of these channels..

to my horror after purchasing the sports pack for an extra amount a month, no nrl or gayfl (which i didnt really care about) was being show, live or replayed... i was outraged as this is one of the main reasons i got it.. when i rang foxtel they said due to 'anti - schipering' and 'broadcast rights' no nrl or afl match can be streamed through the internet'... this is bullshit in my opinion because fox sports has part of the rights to the nrl, and viewes pay a premium for it..

so i assume from what i was told for the people from fox sports is that online streaming site mentioned above is illegal aswell..

with the useage of the internet and streaming online growing massively since the last broadcast agreement it should be the number one priority for the nrl to able to stream matches live through the internet, as does the nba and all other major leagues around the world..

American sports have it down to a Tea !

Lets use baseball for an example.

Major league baseball. They have MLB.TV http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/subscriptions...ateId=MLBTVTAB

Just click on the link and you will see the quality you get with MLB games.

Now we don't have 1) the large number of games and 2) the same audience size, but i am sure something can be done to suit the Australian market, not just the crap that the Bogpond site offers AFTER THE FACT !

The NRL need to take control of the rights to all images and video, i mean just recently there has been an issue between fox and the Coaches where fox wanted to charge coaches to use the eagle eye cam for match reviews !.

It is important that in the next TV rights deal, the NRL need to make sure that the rights to all images are actually owned by the NRL and not the media outlets.
