understand that we don't live in a world of certainty, sometimes even the best laid plans fail, the key is how you bounce back, not how you look back.

      Sharks forwards outplayed their opposition

Smithy should show our entire forwards squad the way the Sharks pack took up the fight tonight especially their front-rowers. Each were equally impressive and determined....Mannah, Snowden, Douglas, Cordoba. They all rotated superbly.
A forward pack that totally dominates their opposition forward pack in the wet weather more often than not wins!!!

Tonights game did nothing to me. It didn't hide the pathetic performance by our team.

If anything, tonights game pissed me off even more. We should be leading the comp right now but instead our players didn't turn up again.

Would you take leading the comp now over leading the comp in the end of september?

But that's the thing Muzz, every win NOW gets us closer to leading the comp in September!
Look how even the ladder is now. Every loss puts us futher behind!
Better to get ahead early and maybe drop a few games later on imo!
With how even the comp is now, it would only take a loss or two on the trot to fall way behind!
The fact of the matter is, a GOOD side doesn't drop games against B grade opposition!

greedy, thats all good in a perfect world, but the fact that last years grandfinalists got beat to poorer opposition proved that Good sides can and will lose to B grade opposition.

like i said, it is how you bounce back. As i said earlier, i would rather lose like that now, sort out the problems and kick on for a strong rest of the season.

Sometimes you need to take a step back, see the bigger picture and move forward from there.

That's exactly right muzz. If we play like that for the next 4 weeks then write this year off. It would show that our mindset is not where it should be because of off-field problems. But a loss like that so early in the season could remove any myth that we can get behind and come back and win in the last 10 minutes because of the stars and depth in our team. Everyone knows we are a far better team than what we showed on the weekend.

I understand what you're saying mate, but the sharks had the squad they've been training with all summer, not a side that was thrown together at the last minute!
It was also at Shark park on a cold and rainy Monday night....They love Those sort of conditions!
I also don't think the merge are the team they were last season either!
I'm far from panicing man....It was just a good opportunty to be ruthless and put the foot on the throat!

I don't understand your logic. Saints were playing B Grade opposition last night and they dropped a game? Are Saints not a good side?

The Sharks win on Monday night can be summed up in one sentence.

Stuart Flanagan used to coach Jamie Soward and knows how to neutralize his attack.

First of all, it's round 2, how do you know
that the sharks are B grade opposition, and the saints are still a good side?
As i said in a post after that one, at least the sharks had their original squad and were'nt thrown together at the last minute With NSW cup players!
