THE race for the Dally M medal is on again. Last year's winner Todd Carney will be aiming to retain his title but will come under heavy pressure from the NRL's galaxy of stars.
Already a number of players have shown impresive form and are set to be in the running for the game's top individual prize.
On Friday night Roosters halfback Mitchell Pearce steered his side around the park in his side's nail-biting win over the Rabbitohs and earned himself three points in the process.
Among the other players to score three Dally M points over the weekend were Cowboys captain Johnathan Thurston who showed he is again set to be a force to be reckoned with in North Queensland's upset win over the Broncos, Jamie Soward, who was instrumental in the Dragons' win over the Titans and Parramatta's Luke Burt, who smashed through the 1500 point barrier with two tries and four goals in the Eels' win over the Warriors.
