Gold Coast join hunt for Bulldogs centre Jamal Idris
ANOTHER week, another round of royal courtship for Bulldogs superstar Jamal Idris.

After last week's trip to Newcastle, Idris was yesterday spotted much further up the Pacific Highway in discussions with Titans officials on the Gold Coast.

The Daily Telegraph has learned Idris hit the holiday strip on Tuesday afternoon to inspect the club's $23 million Centre of Excellence prior to a dinner with Titans CEO Michael Searle and coach John Cartwright.

He spent the night at a Surfers Paradise hotel and lunched with Indigenous All Stars teammate Preston Campbell and other high-profile Titans yesterday.

It's also understood that Searle extended Idris and his manager, Sam Ayoub, a formal offer believed to be worth more than $400,000 a season.

It's the second offer the Idris camp has fielded in the past fortnight, following on from Newcastle's rich bid.

Idris, however, will not make a decision until the Bulldogs finalise their offer. All three clubs are offering the dreadlocked three-quarter the chance to become an Aboriginal ambassador.
The last line really irks me, maybe I'm being too politically correct but isn't the whole point of doing something for a charity or position (such as the one mentioned above) all meant to be for intrinsic values?

I'm not having a shot at anyone or any club in particular here because it's across the board but requesting the government to make a position just so that he they can play with their salary cap surely goes against all the ethics and morals that these clubs preach, especially the Bulldogs who always go on about their 'no dickhead policy'. Surely an organsiations values and morals apply to all their business practices not just their recruitment.

I can cop that Inglis accepted a boat but I can't cop that he could potentially be earning a 100k pay cheque every year from a charity set out to help indigenous people. If it's your full time job then sure everyone needs to make a living but it's the part of Rugby League that makes me sick now. Clubs & players playing off on the good will of others.

Keen to hear other people's opinions on this because I've never really heard anyone bring it up and I may just be going overboard

Are you surprised? The Bulldogs were vocal in requesting all clubs to donate funds to support Graham Annersley's election in the state elections.. Of course the Bulldogs did not care if they didn't donate but they wanted Annersley and the NSW Liberal party who were both morals to know they were publicly backing them.. There was always an agenda behind their support to the 2004 Grand Final referee and Liberal party to look after them after the election.. It is a club with no values..

A lot of this Idris love stinks of the old days and old ways of making colored people into honorary white men.

Be thankful you are not a Parramatta fan. Below is a photo of what happened last year when Canterbury played them. 2 cars were destroyed by Dogs fans, but then they get all sensitive when they are vilified. This team should never play at night.

would that be like the same Aboriginal Ambassador role Inglis had at the storm for 2 years, paid for coaching and guest speaking committments around the 100k mark, yet the organisation had no members and Inglis never appeared( well only to claim the check)

I will never ever attend a dogs game again, 2 really bad instances( one when i was charged ) by 2 of the scumbags after i assaulted them and punched threw a car window for spitting on my 5 yo daughter wearing a Roosters jersey at maccas( after the sfs brawl).

Last year i returned rd 3 to anz and a mob of them jumped in our carraige on the oly park train and tried to hit on my now teen daughter, thankfully an invisible presence( transit officers) defused a nasty situation.

              I hate them

i agree, im always uneasy around them, scum of the earth, likely to try and rip your throat out at any moment, not many"aussies" amongst the fans either, so its very hard to have a reasonable conversation withy them, even last week i got chased twice back to the shire cause my car is roosterised, thankfully a fully sick datto with a sewer pipe exhaust cannot keep up with a tuned twin turbo subaroo b4!hooray for central locking!

At what other home game do you have actual police acting as "security" at the ground? Only a Doggies game at Homebush!

Did anyone notice the paddywagons outside the ground at the Doggies game?

Most of the crowd looked like something you will see in a police line-up.

Would NEVER take kids to Homebush!

im so glad mr sport graham annersly is now minister for sport, hes watched a lot, never really played? the good thing is it will keep him out of miranda longer, gives the alp a better chance of turning him into a one term wonder in 3 3/4 years? hes taking over from a local mp who actually did a lot for the area so he cant just pretend hes back in his news corp nrl office and do nothing?
