I never said it was a bad thing, don't put words in my mouth. It's far from bad.

What I said is it's a strange recruitment decision given the players they currently have and it probably wastes some of the talent they'll have playing out on the fringes.

As an individual, great recruitment. As a recruit for the team I think it's a strange choice.

How does that not support my theory that they need 40-50 hitups between them to make 150 metres each? I'm also actually surprised because I was exaggerating.

Their workrate is immense & as PTD mentioned they both have great discipline with ball in hand I just think two similar players is overkill... I'd have been more inclined to give someone like Tapau a run who has the ability to bust tackles and would compliment Tolman perfectly and spend the money elsewhere.

Your statement in your OP isn't exactly clear and in fact reads like you are saying 40-50 hitups per player to make 150 metres between them. Either way, I'd prefer two players making 300 metres between them every game than the bunch of useless twats we have running around in our pack at the moment who can't crack 100 metres. We are again one of the worst packs in the comp.

For me it's about value for money.

Tolman and Graham are good solid props but they aren't worth more than $250,000 a season. There are plenty of good props out there.

Players are worth different amounts to different clubs.

What if your rookie makes origin - You would suddenly be over the cap points by 3...

When you read the detail it is not actually such a ridiculous idea. There are discounts for players which have been for the club a certain amount of time, and if they are brought through to become rep players. Not sure if the idea originated with him, but I believe the sharks CEO put it forward. There was a good article on it last year. Will try and find it.

You don't necessarily need ballplaying forwards if you always have great ball security, field position and defence. Dragons are a prime example of this.
