It's ironic that you started this thread about Soward on night he may have played himself out of an origin jersey.

With 60% of the ball the best he could do was 2 very poor attempts at field goal. The Dogs were robbed.

I have said it before any half in the comp could do for Saints what Soward does.

You only had to look at the Cowboys game. Boyd, Soward and Fien out and they still won easily.

If you are playing in a team that is only letting in 10 points a week you are never under pressure.

All the talk about how he will be shit when Bennett leaves. So the line of attack is that he has nothing without a good coach. Gee, thanks for that, I didn't realise that a coach might have influence on the way a player, NO, a team performs. Maybe we chould get one on them and spare me the "We nearly did but he stabbed us in the back" BS. Soward's role in the team is utilised very well. Bennett plays him to his strengths which is what he should do. No one can deny that.

He probably won't perform as well without Bennett and I am sure that if the Dragons fail next year - as in not make the GF - the that will be enough for most here to say "I told you so".

They are a bloody good team and apply pressure very well. Soward always takes the 2 points early in the game if given the option. As a result, they apply pressure to the other team as they have to play catch up footy. Then the Dragons walk away - usually - with the most important 2 points of the night.

So they get ALL the calls, so they are protected, so the game is rigged - FFS PUT YOUR HOUSE ON EM IF IT IS SO CLEAR CUT.

I too hope he gets a Blues jersey. Not to prove people wrong or right but to see how he performs. He is a very good kicker of the ball in general play and knows how to apply pressure with those kicks. Maybe that is NOT enough to win a series but we have not had much in the last 6 years.....
