Apologies Parkway_Drive and any others reading...

Not for a minute am I suggesting we are even interested. Plain don't know. I was under the impression he'd long signed with the Sharks, but now I'm hearing that is actually yet to happen.
No faith in my source, so was asking merely if anyone here had a reliable source.

Has me wondering though as the Rooster's have some form in trades.

Found this from buzzathon's site. Note the title reads "Jack Birds new Cronulla contract" but will be announced in the "next month".

Plan seems to trial Bird and Holmes at 1... whereas at the Roosters he could potentially secure the 1 jersey with Mini overseeing the transformation.

Mmmm it's sure got me wondering.

Was reading over at sharksforever forums. Expert opinions everywhere over there like here me included...

Members there seem to think he's digging in his heels for the FB spot. Many saying they expected him to move to the centres or play 13 with the BBQ @ 6. If I'm right he signed a 2 y contract with then coach Sharpe at the helm while Flanno was serving his suspension in the bushes.

So why the delay with contract negs...

            Manly are apparently chasing him.

Can we please write to the Daily Tolietpaper and ask them not to use the headline 'This Bird Has Flown' because I'm a Beatles fan and I don't want to have to not listen to one of their songs.

Apparently he could potentially become a very good FB so where not interested.

                We don't need a fullback.

                Where fine.

                Fark it.

Don't even bother ironing on the number 1 on any of next years jerseys.

We are the Roosters. We don't need a FB.

Holmes was quoted earlier this year saying he was promised a shot at fullback.
Thought he'd just have to play well enough to keep Barba on the bench.
                  Someone won't be happy.

Expect some news here with The NRL Lurker just tweeting Matai to the Sharks, Bird to Manly and then the tweet deleted in seconds.
He's either gone off early or there's a bigger pay-off for him by offloading the story to a larger outlet.

Matai conspicuous by his absence in promotional material @ sea_eagles while the rest of wait on the sharks to confirm that done deal with Bird.

I'm expecting Manly will announce the transfer of Matai for Bird in early November leaving Buzz with that all too familiar egg on his face.

It doesn't get much later in the month does it? Where's that announcement buzz said was a done deal? Could buzz be wrong wrong wrong ;P

So if the talk is true Manly have gone off Bird instead preferring to sign Walker which makes sense as he can cover for Captain Whinge in the centres when he gives it away at the end of 2016. Which likely leaves Bird at the Sharks for 2016, but you'd imagine on the outer and likely to be either traded or let go after that or stay for less $$$ from 2017 onwards. Flanno is big on loyalty and employs the siege mentality with his coaching when he's not diving behind bushes incognito. Flanno will have marked a big X next to his name that's for sure.

With Lafai already signed and Bird not far away that likely sees the Dragon's cap exhausted. Roberts therefore not likely IMO... unless there's a few $ left over from Merrin and Aitken going but hard to see it. Roberts supposedly wanting a supportive environment around him is BS... just looking to draw interest and offers from the sleepers... the Cowboys and Roosters. So far neither club are biting...
