That is really what is missing from our forward pack - a worhorse in the Gallen/Hindmarsh/Fitzy/Ricko mould. Of course we have Jake but we can't expect him to do all of that work and then be at his quickest and most agile in attack. If we have Maubs/Symonds/Anasta in the pack on them has to take on this role IMO.
One of the great things about seeing both Mataka and Guerra in the first grade team last week was that they both looked so hungry to take the most of their opportunity. I would like to see them both retained with perhaps Mataka moving into the centres. He could be damaging.

I dont like him as a player because of his grubbish antics but you cannot deny the fact that the he is an absolute machine!!! I cannot wait to see how he goes with the captaincy tomorrow night

Spot on, he is "an absolute machine" I never liked him either for the same reason but I feel he has "cleaned up his act" in that regards in recent times and I have changed my opinion of him. I pay a lot of attention to him as he is in my supercoach team lol and he is nowhere near as "grubby" as he once was. In saying that he probably will prove me wrong tonight when the stakes are higher and those damn Queenslanders try to stir him up , hopefully being the captain he will not "bite".

                  Much appreciated Muz.

This thread is a disgrace....I was saying this 2 years ago. Oh well, glad the big G-Train is finally getting the recognition he deserves!

                  Long live PG13.

Gallen......just cant deliver in big games like Origin.

2 very costly tackle misses that killed NSW.

Not good enough. Great NRL player...just cant go up a notch.

I believe the term is Over, yes Trew, Rated.

nah mate watch the game again, Gal did nothing wrong on that final try, it was Scotty who ran out of the line and made the hole.

I have never seen or met a player like him.
Bear in mind ive seen a stack UC and P.
Self motivated, ferociously determined, hates losing and physically imcomparable.

He is the ultimate back rower.
Better than Clyde and he was my best.

                      On a side note,
do you know whose choice it was to let Gallen leave Parramatta??
                      You guessed it!!!
Said he would never make it and preferred polynesians who were 6 foot 7.
It seems when Paul was considering changing clubs that there was too much "old baggage" between them
                      barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

Spot on, there was no need for Scott to rush out leaving a massive gap. Slater (who was behind Lockyer at the time, recognised it and capitalised in an instant.

Who would've thought a player with possibly the best work ethic ever could make it....

The last try wasnt so much Gallen's fault but was indeed Scott rushing off to smash Lockyer, thereby creating that gap

God gave Paul Gallen something, it wasn't respect for women.

I watched that highlight of the last try and youre right.

All St George Players should be ****ed off immediately.
