ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA coach Wayne Bennett last night labelled the NRL competition as ''unfair'' after an undermanned Dragons crashed to their first loss in three months against struggling Gold Coast before a crowd of just 10,139 at WIN Jubilee Oval.

Poor Wayne... others might say it's unfair that 1 team has 10 Origin players (basically an Origin team) especially when the Storm were fried for having Slater, Cronk, Inglis and Smith.

Just saying... when you rig the comp so that your whole team has played Origin and somehow squeeze it under the cap, you can't really complain when your team loses during Origin weeks.

Yeah well that's the problem ay... St Merge effectively bought a premiership, not a long lasting club culture. Result?
a) 1 Premiership and a LOT of chokes.
b) The folding of their NSWRL franchise.
c) No focus on NYC (down the bottom somewhere every year with Wayne.)
d) They will now be stuck paying a puck load for guys like Soward who will magically turn sh_t without Wayne and his crew) so won't be able to do much about it for a while.

Sure a premiership > all and I'd love another one in my lifetime, but seriously sucked in to St Merge. Wouldn't be bad seeing them add another spoon to their trophy room...

On a related note, I find it interesting that the drizzle's coach is in the media being asked about what it's like to be missing his 1, 7 & 9 and what an inconvenience it is to his team but you'll read nothing about the Roosters missing their 1 & 7 along with about 10 other players.
