But I could understand his Manly bias........he represented them internationally in League, Union and surfing.
    A great athlete. Vale.

BTW....can't believe someone would want to throw rocks at any player, let alone a great like Mick Cronin.....so
maybe I do have something in common with Rex.
Young dumb and full of..........i was a budding cricketer and baseballer with a cannon for an arm back in the day and i was only trying to knock the ball off the mound to try and put him off, not hit him.

I reckon it was 2 weeks before i slept properly as i had visions of Rex finding out where i lived and coming around and givin it to me lol. And Rex wouldtold my old man as well, and he loved Rex, so i would have had both of them floggin me lol.......ahhh good times.
Sure do - not really sure how cause if you asked me what I ate for brekky yesterday I wouldn't know. I guess it was because it was Mick Cronin and growing up in the gong he was loved by all even my family and we all were Easts supporters. Lol you probably deserved a few sleepless nights doing that to the great Mick Cronin the stupid things we do when we are kids!

Ok.....you are forgiven. Mick is one of my all-time favs.
I was young once......so long ago I can't remember. Didn't have much sense then and haven't learned a lot since.

This video reminds me how bad fashion was in the late '70's..

Rex chastising his panel & guests was always good for a laugh..

And the prizes for the Commonwealth Bank pass the ball comps were first class..Meapro Hams, free passes to Ferris Ashton's Viking Sauna,& of course the fresh Patra OJ..

and Ron Casey's prizes on the other channel were a Fabiani shirt, dencorub (for all the aches and pains) and a protector strip ...for down the side of your car !
...aaah just love the good old days of (cheap) television !

Rex provided an abundance of amusmement.
At his worst he was miles better than Ray Warren will ever be and not only that he had done it all not just fantasised about it

                    RIP Rex, you did good

Rex was a general in the Manly army of rugby league domination.
He and Arthurson were integral in the cultivation of bile towards the sea eagles in years gone by.
                      I didn't like him then.
                      barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

My earliest memory of Rex was him getting into a blue with my father in 1976. I might be remembering it through what my father said but he started an argument in the S.C.G. car park after East beat Manly 19-18.

RIP Rex. I miss contreversy corner and the biased debates between Rex and Ferris Ashton.I liked his love for the game, and we need more like him.

Raising a glass of Patra orange juice, while lying in the Viking Sauna.

Way before we became a nanny state with all the political correctness.

Hated him for his Manly bias. Liked his warts & all analysis.

Love or hate him, Rex was one of a kind.

I've based a lot of my life's teachings on people of his kind, brash, opinionated and outspoken. It has lost me friends, jobs and plenty of chances at tail but I can hold my head up and say I've lived how I should live.

I know Rex can do the same.
