Very sad huh ? He was the voice of the game when I was growing up. Such a passionate man. He was the best tv commentator that I can remember.Very entertaining I used to love the old footy show on a Sunday morning that he hosted - the old pass the ball competition great! Brings back great memories. RIP Moose

The guy is a rugby league legend.
Dual international and pioneer of tv sport.

I have lots of fond memories of watching his tv show Sportsaction, and Controversy Corner was legendary !
        RIP the Moose

Rex Mossop rest in peace. You were an icon to the great game that was rugby league.I hope these farkwits in the NRL give you a fitting tribute, you deserve no less.I loved how he and Ferris used to banter about Easts and Manly, shits all over the footy show.

Couldn't stand his Manly bias, but I admired him for what he brought to the game, perspective. I might go put the 75 GF on in tribute.

                Chook.

RIP Rex, loved your quality work arresting the nude sunbather on your local beach and thanks for holding up on national tv the rocks i threw at Mick Cronin from the Turner stand as he was lining up a conversion in '81 i think. Didnt miss by much either!

And didn't he say something along the lines of " I don't have anything against people going around naked but I don't want them shoving it down my throat"

You cannot seriously remember that can you?? ...........but yeh he was pissed off big time and when he held up the rocks ( could have been busted up concrete or asphalt from the back of the stand ) i shat bricks. Cant remember whether it was at the end of the game or the sports news segment that night but hold them up he did as he went into a rage about mindless young louts.
I reckon it was 2 weeks before i slept properly as i had visions of Rex finding out where i lived and coming around and givin it to me lol. And Rex would have told my old man as well, and he loved Rex, so i would have had both of them floggin me lol.......ahhh good times.

Didn't like Rex....he had no sense of humour at all. But then he probably didn't like me either.
But I could understand his Manly bias........he represented them internationally in League, Union and surfing.
                            A great athlete. Vale.

BTW....can't believe someone would want to throw rocks at any player, let alone a great like Mick Cronin.....so
maybe I do have something in common with Rex.

Whether you liked him or not, you couldn't help watching him with Ferris and enjoying Controversy Corner.
