I am interested to know the views on this commentator.

Like many here, I have grown up listening to commentators like Ray Warren, Rex Mossop and blokes like Frank Hyde and Col Pearce on the radio.

The above mentioned besides being great commentators always showed respect for the players.

In recent times especially with the double game on friday nights, it is fair to say that Andrew Voss is primed to be next main commentator.

I personally find his commentating good but his lack pf respect to players simply wrong.

If the guy had premiship games under his belt he may have a case to argue he has a right to the gags. Over the years his continually bagging of guys like Mario Fenech, got to the point where you no longer bother watching.

My view is commentators there to commentate.

GOD NOOOOOOOOOOO, please this guy is a joke, his the only bloke in the world that is never wrong and just to get up Phil Gould every week on certain programs he mentions AFL when its not necessary.

I hope another station does get the next rights, Rabs gets to many names Wrong and is very annoying when Phil Gould and him argue during a game which is frustrating.
BTW i dont mind Sterling i think he does a good job.

Rex MOssop used to get more players names right than Rabbits and that is saying something.

Voss is reminds me of my ex wife. I hate his voice. He is a pain in the arse when i am watching the footy. He laughs at his own jokes and he aint a Roosters fan.

Years ago, I thought Voss was actually a pretty good commentator, but in recent years his "fame" has gone to his head, he thinks he is funny (he isn't) and he comes across as a smartarse. I often get a sense that players, former players and fellow commentators don't think a great deeal of him.
Rabbits is an atrocious caller, as is Gould - Can't wait for channel 9 to get dumped

Dan ginnane, i like him as a commentator, not sure how he would go on the box, but as a radio commentator, he is one of the best.

The MNF team of Ginnane, Sterlo, Mascord and Joey on Triple M is brilliant.

But yea, the sooner Ch 9 lose the rights the better. Their coverage is a disgrace!!

Vossy is the perennial bridesmaid. Been waiting for Rabbits for ages to retire so he could take the top spot, you'd have to think (privately) he would've been happy with the news of Rabbits illness a few months back, as he's probably thinkng "finally he might actually retire".

I also find him a smug, arrogant know it all who doesn't show respect for alot of people who have actually have 'been there done that' in the game.
I don't mind his calling of a game, just his attitude and arrogance is a bit much from someone who never laced on a boot !

Voss is an excellent commentator, he lives and breathes league, and he knows more about the game than 99.9% of the people who frequent this joint
