Last night Gus was suggesting that Hayne's pass which led to a try was a forward pass. The ball was passed from half a metre in the field of play and ended up half a metre in the in-goal area. For those who do not know the rule:
"The direction of a pass is relative to the player making it and not to the actual path relative to the ground."
Hayne was always in front of the ball as it left his hand. The ball was passed behind relative to the player. It amazes me how many "expert" commentators don't understand the most basic and fundamental rule.
