  • Anyone else sick of Lockyer-love

The guy's a legend. Best attacking three quarter/kicker/leader seen in 30 years.
Huge effort making 351 games. Disappointing that he is such an ordinary defender imo.
And an ornament to the game. Lovely bloke.
But the worship of him is becoming nauseating. Sad thing is that Darren would probably agree. We've got a few more months of it.

Fantastic career, but never at any stage of his career has he been the best player in the game IMO..

    However he deserves the accolades..

      He has earned the praise.

The Johns media love really sickened me though.

I live in Brissy, and it is sickly to have to watch. They even have spots on add breaks for the lovefest. Locky would be hating it.

Also on the roast did anyone else notice Geyer saying Lockyers movie would need to be R rated, then he suddenly pulls up and moves on? Lockyer has been more of a scally wag in years gone by than most know. If he didn't have the media covering his tracks like they have, well he may well be in Todds position.

Great player, the fact that the Brisbane press covered up his many indiscretions at the local watering holes, will always grind my gears.

That grinds my gears too, considering a player of equal talent and skill is being crucified by the same media organisation in Sydney.

The refs will do their best to ensure he is sent off a winner....

I hate lockyer and I was sick to the back teeth of all the lockyer love ages ago. They talk about the guy like he's a saint and I highly doubt he is one.

IMO he has been the best player in the game during part of his career.

He does deserve all the accolades.

I'm waiting for a story about Lockyer's last ever shit in the Mt. Smart toilets, second cubicle from the right.

Great player, but it's getting a bit much.

he is a champion and deserves the praise - a 1 club man - a genuinely humble and honest footballer - a true playmaker who is always composed when the game is on the line - he deserves the praise of every true and unbiased rugby league fan

I saw that too. Mark Geyer seems to be champing at the bit to tell the truth about a lot of players.

Lockyer had something that Todd Carney hasn't, protection from the media up in the glorified country town.

                          A great player but...

Sorry, but I've seen two COMPLETE players who were better than him and carried their club, state and national sides on their shoulders - A.Johns and B.Fittler.

Lockyer had a state of origin side around him every week at Brisbane!!! And he is a turnstile. Johns and Fittler weren't. They had no weaknesses.

Fittler didn't get the send off he deserved.

Freddy should have gone in 02.

Then the Roosters would have pick up Thurston.

                              In principle we all agree.
                              That's not the question.
Has it been over the top, nauseating praise & adoration.
                              One word - yes.
