  • Canberra Raiders - Big Announcement at 12pm

I live in Canberra and just heard on the local news here that the Raiders are going to make a BIG announcement at 12pm and it's shrowded in secrecy. Wonder what that's all about?

    Could it be Carney??
Or maybe just Furner getting the sack?

            I hope so.

He isn't as good as people think.

I think Dugan is just too injury prone for the Roosters to risk and after years of Mini missing more games than he played, Dugan really isn't a great choice.

Canberra Raiders captain Alan Tongue will retire at the end of the NRL season, bringing to an end a wonderful 12-year career.
Tongue will front a press conference at Canberra Stadium today to make the announcement after telling teammates at 10.30am.
The 30-year-old will finish his career as a one-team man, having played 217 games for the Raiders since making his debut against the Brisbane Broncos in 2000.

He has made the sixth-most appearances in Raiders’ history behind Jason Croker (318 games), Laurie Daley (244), Simon Woolford (233), Steve Walters (228) and Ruben Wiki (225).

Tongue spent the majority of his career at lock forward where he established a reputation as a tackling machine, leading the NRL in 2006 with 1087 tackles.

Tongue made his long-overdue debut in the representative arena in 2009 when he earnt selection for NSW Country in 2009.

In recent seasons Tongue has made the switch to hooker, where he has shared playing time with Glen Buttriss.

Dugan got drunk and pissed on Furner's wife in order to secure a release to the roosters.

                          Boom-tish.

My Raiders mate will be thrilled. He's been talking about running Tongue over with his car to get him out of the team.

                          Chook.

I was hoping they were going to announce an exchange with us - Campese for Carney.
