I am told, and correct me here if it's wrong, that when a decision goes upstairs you can bet whether it's going to be a try right up until it is ruled on.
Pretty easy for these untrustworthy tools to send a text to an accomplice to get a bet on in time. I mean how else would you explain some of the decisions, for an extreme instance the Bill Harrigan "try" decision to Gasnier against Manly last year?
The Gallen "try" last night wasn't far off that for outrageousness.
