because if Manly and the Storm are the two best teams in the comp then it truly shows how poor the standard has become.

The salary cap has certainly meant we have seen the end of truly great sides.

Not only that, they're talking about adding a couple of more teams which will only dilute the talent pool further. Really good games of footy have become fewer and further between in the last 5-10 years...yes the skills may have improved but the overall playing standard hasn't because there are less and less really good players in each team.

I honestly believe the 2004 GF was the last clash of two complete teams of stars we will ever see.

        the salary cap is irrelevent.
        Its NEWS and the $s.
I see too many teams with players only interested in the money.

Look back at the 70s. The players could run, backup and catch.
Look at today, the players can't catch and pass anywhere near like REAL FOOTBALLERS.
The defense is different but todays dickheads can't catch or pass properly

          That's because they're not footballers, they're athletes!

So where does that put us? Manly would smash us 9 out of 10 times. Not beat. Smash. They are way too mentally and physically tough over 80 minutes for our team.
