As PtB said - if he wasn't so stupid with his 'big hits', he wouldn't get injured as much. No question about his courage, but he should spend more time working on his defensive technique.

Whether he is injured or not, he provides every team he plays against with a point of weakness to attack. This is a luxury for any team and one which a team can only afford if the player has brilliance in attack to offset it. Similar to Soward, Carney (sober), Quade Cooper, Lockyer, Marshall, etc. And in attack, Sandow lacks the consistency in attack of all the above. Goes missing too much for mine. Maybe if he gets his head right he will be a player of rep quality as well. Its a big IF though...a $2m gamble for Parramatta.

Sandow has brilliance that can't be taught

Carntage has individual brilliance that can't be taught. But like Sandcow he can't defend and has off field issues which as we have seen can spill over to his on field performances. I reckon Sandcow has been well protected with the off field stuff, he wouldn't have lasted so long at our club for example.

I guess it's about balance having a player who is an individual requires a player to steer the team around. IMO that's Pearceorfs role. That's what Souffs lack.

What will be interesting is how Watsamatta deal with Hayneinthearse and Sandcow in the same team, with a coach who seems to like the structure over the free flowing style of play. And who will steer the ship for Watsa???

Call me crazy but I think Sandow has plenty of heart. He is a fierce competitor and trys his guts out every week. His kicking game is superb and possibly close to the best in the game. I agree he is a grub and I don't like the way he conducts himself on and off the field. However, I think when we talk about Souths players on this forum many of you are blinded by your hatred of the vermin. I also hate them so don't get me wrong. The constant bagging of Sandow reminds me of the way most forum member hate Russell Crowe and will not even admit he is a very fine actor. I think it is great the way Crowe has deiberately resurrected the rivalry between South and Easts. Every drama need its feuds, its heroes and villains. In fact I would say Crowe has played most of you like a fiddle. Just my 2 cents worth. Let the hate begin.
