A couple of questions..

When a member goes through the gate doesn't it count to the total regardless...

Secondly, rather than just blame Gallop, why were the NRL finals so poorly attended on the weekend?

Is it because the coverage is so good and we all have a better than decent TV these days, and that now our favourite lounge is actually the best seat in the house?

That's a big part of it, as I see it.

We've turned our lounge rooms into cosy 'stadiums'...aircon/heaters, big screen tvs, bar fridges, cheap food and snacks...all under cover.
. No parking fees, no cost of transport/petrol, no long delays exiting car parks, no driving and public transport hassles.
. People are struggling to pay their electricity bills.
. Now water rates are going to increase a lot.

. Why do all the cars have to exit the car parks at the SFS into Driver Ave?...it's ridiculous.

Manly fans boycotted the SFS in protest at the match not being at Brookvale.
Do many of them ever travel over the Bridge to footy games anyway?

Manly was poor.. because well.. manly fans refused to travel. Time slot as well didn't help

The storm crowd was also very poor. However, there was a crowd of about 84k at the MCG a short walk away, most of the attention seemed to be on that

Melbourne is AFL central.
NRL is a very minor code there...News Ltd was told that.

AFL is taking over footy in Australia...refereeing decisions don't decide the outcome of games...a big factor.

wow.. i guess you didn't bother to read my previous post.
As i said before, a sell out of the SFS for the 2005 preliminary final attracted 41k fans.
So of course friday's game wasnt going to get above 40k at the SFS, let alone reach the capacity of 48k..........

I don't see why it wouldn't have been a sell out thus reaching well above 40k?

Exactly this^. Just because Manly fans are too lazy to travel across the bridge it doesnt mean we should revoke the finals policy..

I could of told you this before the game, why is he so ignorant to the game that he's supposed to be running? I doubt anyone who follows RL is susprised that:

1) Barely any Cowboys fans showed up
2) The Manly fans didn't travel
3) That no one in Sydney gives a shit about Manly and thus didn't turn up
