"Officially" it was a try....and that is what will be recorded in the history books.

So, you can't drop kick unless attempting a field goal, [or a restart from the in-goal].

Maybe you should be able to...more interesting game.

Thought the same thing when I read it. Most concerning....

It really is concerning when the guys in charge don't see the rules as black & white.
Maybe we will end up with barristers in a court of law determining what the "rule" actually means?

Headless, sorry can't quote on my phone. I understand the rule. I just meant in my mind it was very obvious that his intent was to kick the ball. It was more a question of whether it hit his foot or not, which is the question that I don't think harrigan addressed.

It was a knock on. Everyone in the stadium knew it other than the video ref.

On what basis that he touched the ball first or drop kicked it?

Benji to me just looked very sheepish about it all.

"He deliberately set out to put in a kick, and while it was unconventional, he still got his foot to the ball and thus it was legal".

                      Drop-kicked it..

Of coarse it was a total stuff-up from Marshall...But technically still a try....

It was a try, by the rules it deserved to be a try, it was given, the game is over so who gives a sh*t?

If Anasta done that it wouldn't be a try.

No way Anasta would have even got past Boyd so it would have be irrelevant.
