    Good legal tackle.
Time the Roosters started tackling like that instead of being walked all over every other match.
Dragons should've been penalised anther 20 times for cheap shots...hands in faces, high tackles etc.

Agree it was disgusting, and worthy of citing by the match review committee for contrary conduct. No doubt, his intention was not to complete a tackle, but to further injure an already defenceless player. How is that in the spirit of the game?

Do you think he will be cited though?

      Cited for what, exactly?
He didn't do anything illegal...ran in to stop Morris passing the ball or getting up and running...it's not playskool.

If you seriously think there was anything good about that tackle, then you know nothing at all.

Whilst being legal, there was nothing good or hard about it.

Nah, that was Creagh who punched him then ran around and hid behind his own players in that other game a few seasons ago....Origin?

Morris had every opportunity to hand the ball off to a teammate but seeing as he can't pass and did attempt at first to get to his feet Hodges did the right thing with completing the tackle.

Legal tackle, ...no knees, no head contact, no feet, no headbutt, no swinging arm..."Good hit" as they say...served the purpose, Morris didn't pass the ball or get up and run.
Maybe he ran too fast and the contact was a bit too hard for the liking of some people, but NRL is "win at all costs" these days.
              Unlike Weyman's face massages!

Do you mean hand the ball off to the team mate that was holding his hand up saying "stop he is injured". St. George were not playing on, it was obvious to everyone except a few....

Again, your idea of a good hit and mine differ enormously.

Or the player coming off the shoulder of the player with his hand up, thru the line and off for the match-winning try?

If the Roosters were the Broncos I'd be saying it was a good, wise and necessary tackle to win the game and stop any further possible play from Morris.
...you know, in the dog-eat-dog world of NRL today.

Maybe if you didn't have to ram the tackled player thru the turf and halfway to Africa before the tackle is called "held", and more often than not the ball is passed when the tackled player's forward progress has been stopped, things might've been different.

Thought it was funny, Creagh had the opportunity of a lifetime to make amends for running away from Hodges in 2009 SOO 3. His mate, injured, get smashed by the carrrnt and all he does is stand there. He was obliged to throw one for his mate imo.

You can complete the tackle by just putting your hand on a player. What Hodges did was put on a cheap shot on a defenseless (obviously injured) player on the ground. Technically not illegal, but just goes to show what sort of a man he is.

Is anyone surprised that Hodges would commit such a dog act? The bloke is a complete arsewhole who has no respect for anyone but himself. I hope that next time he's writhing in agony on the field with yet another hamstring injury someone does exactly the same to him so he knows how it feels. Karma will get the farkwit, hopefully this weekend against Manly. God knows there are enough fellow cheap shot experts in the Manly team to give him a right going over.

                              Watmough & Matai are stand-outs.

Exactly the two I was thinking of. G Stewart would be another but of course he's still suspended.
