True about the win on Friday nights though - weekend is much more fun, you want to watch the highlights over and over again, read the paper about how good we were.....

The problem with Friday nights is trying to walk Jimmy to a safe location to get transport home, fark its like watching human frogger.

If the Chooks were playing at midnight on the moon I would do my best to get there...

As long as there is a bit of variety I am happy...

I like friday night games because I walk from the city and get on the beers with the boys..

I also like Sunday afternoon games as i like to take the kids to a few games each year..

That's true. Very very true, and I don't have Uni the next day... plus it gives me time for my voice to come back.

Last time I went to a Friday night game (but it was for sydney fc, not the roosters) I didn't go to bed until quarter past 12 the next morning. Luckily my sporting game was at 11am that morning.

I once stayed up till 12.30.

But I only had myself to play with in the morn.

                  Its a sport, I swear.

                      Well there's your first mistake.

First and foremost, they need to keep Ch9 happy, and that means getting the games Ch9 wants, on Ch9, in their prime timeslot, which is FNF.

There will be little joy in wishing for a change in scheduling policy until such time as the NRL isn't operating purely to please the TV networks. And as they are the ones paying the bills, it's unreasonable to expect that to change.
No sir, I don't like it.

Tell me about the scheduling policy - it sucks!!!!

For an interstate supporter on other side of the country, it is so hard to - 1. organise holiday times & 2. book ahead of time to get the cheap flights as the exact dates for the games are not set for the whole year. The NRL needs to get some "balls" and operate as the AFL does - all their games are now in place for the 2009 year. But as pointed out above, the telecasters are paying the bills.

Guess all I can do is book one way to get to Sydney & get that part cheap and then once the game date is announced then book the return flight home.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!! ok, off my soap box now

I grew up with Sat and Sun arvo footy, it was great to get to live.

Remember these days its about TV ratings. More people watch TV at night.

Therefore dont hold your breath thinking things will change, especially while NewsRL and Ch9 have control.

I quite frequently have something on at school on friday nights. It looks like I'm missing our first two. Why does the NRL love friday nights so much and hate Sunday afternoons so much?
They can't just say, blockbusters have to be on friday nights because free to air BUT you can still have a free to air game on a Sunday afternoon. If they go," But it won't be live", why don't they ask Channel 9.
I think free to air should also be on Saturday nights. The AFL has 2 games on Saturday on free to air and the NRL has 0 unless during finals.
I had a dream last night that the NRL loved Friday nights so much, they renamed the NRL FNRL (Friday Night Rugby League) and had all the games on Friday nights.
