  • Gallop warns Carney to keep low profile

    http://www.smh.com.au/sport/gallop-w...917-1kevl.html

NRL chief executive David Gallop secretly met former Roosters star Todd Carney during the week and advised him to stay out of the spotlight.

"Yes, I had a chat with Todd," Gallop said.
"I did emphasise that I thought it would be smart if he stayed out of the spotlight when he gets a new team and is in the process of getting a new team.''

    @@@@@

And how on earth would that ever be possible with the media camped outside his front door, favourite tattoo parlour and coffee shop 24/7...cameras and microphones at the ready?

Good advice though...despite the likelihood of a new club having all but disappeared.
Maybe he could play for the Wallabies, their attack was useless against Ireland, he could show them how to play.

I'd recommend a compound home with high fences, electronic security everywhere, dark tinted window hire car/limo for transport, scowling huge minders to frighten the media away, home theatre system, club room, no need to leave home much at all really except for training, playing, and beach-going.

Quite easy really. Don't go out clubbing with your mates and putting yourself in the position where the media can paint you in a bad light.....you know....the sort of stuff normal guys do....Bbq at home with mates, throw a few bob in the phonetab, have a few bets. Get up the next day, wander downtown, have a coffee and some breakfast. Yep all pretty boring stuff, but its the life that most of us live, and unfortunately due to past behavioural issues that have been well documented, thats the life Todd has made for himself.

Hopefully he's learnt by now that his drinking buddies were not real friends...and that while he's out in the cold they all still have contracts at their present and new clubs.

Hopefully he's learnt that work colleagues are just that, and will badmouth you and take your job in an instant.
Look no further than Rudd, Gillard and co for a perfect example.

Hopefully he's learnt that when it comes right down to it, he's the only one he can rely on.

Well if it's good enough for the rest of us, it's good enough for your beloved Toddles isn't it. Welcome to the real world, where your own actions determine your future, not anyone elses. And that he's run out of BS excuses that anyone will believe.

Stay sobor, stay out of trouble and do the right thing by any new club that is foolish enough to hire you. Doesn't sound too hard now does it. But somehow I doubt your beloved Toddles is capable of it long term.

Well, we're going to have to look after him aren't we.

Yay, we get him back by default.

            Shit!

He's gone from us...the relationship is over.

Now he's waltzing his matilda thru the land seeking alternative employment.
              Well backpack anyway.

Won't be an issue now, the Agenda driven telucrap got their target......The Roosters club. We will barely hear a thing about Todd now he is no longer with the club.

                Expect a new target.

One flaw in that argument is that KRudd, a dud, was replaced by something much, much worse. Carney actually had talent but was replaced (maybe not) by someone...whom a lot of people think is the best thing since Archbishop Makarios.

He's gone...the halves we have now are it, the 'last 4 rounds ones' unless the reportedly signed 5/8 arrives.

No thanks - that means he's still connected to the Roosters and it will the RWB that will rubbished every time he stuffs up, not the Jets. The media will ensure that.

We need a clean break from the bloke. For his sake and ours. Especially if he's still on the drink which I suspect is the case.

I mentioned in another thread that Todd might be with the Jets next year! Smith could be gone!

More and more I am hoping you are correct Le Coq. It would be an amazing solution. A guess there are three questions to ask though. 1. Can Carney change? 2. Does Carney want to change? 3. Are we flogging a dead horse?
