Alcohol, like any other drug, is only as dangerous as the user allows. Lack of willpower and discipline of the user is the real problem, not the drug itself.

I used to binge drink myself when I was younger, as many young people do. But I just woke up one day in my early 20s, decided I didn't like what I was doing to myself and simply chose to drink less. And did so from that day forward.

It's like anything else, it's the routine that's the hard habit just as much as the alcohol/drug itself. And yes, it means a change in lifestyle and social life, but for the better.

I still like a drink, always will. And I still drink on a regular basis. I see bothing wrong with a couple of glasses a week.

But it has to be a special occasion to have me to overindulge nowadays. Like the ocasional girlies night out/weekend.

In the end it's a matter of choice - and only you can change your attitude to any type of drug and whether you want to consume more or less of it. No one else can do it for you. And no one else can be blamed for the choices you make.

Na, coffee and water with lemon juice is the strongest I've indulged in today, although there is half a bottle of verdellho in the fridge if I was that way inclined. Must be Csomething in those damn lemons I picked from dad's tree on the weekend.

But more realistically, it's typing on a bloody laptop keyboard that's my downfall here. I am too used to a normal sized keyboard at work. My last day of a few days off so logged on at home.

Am actually baking, rather than drinking.

Its very interesting that you and Gherkin show up at the same time of the day. A coincidence? Not likely.

                        The headline will read

                        or

somewhere in the story," Lui was known too have been a drinking acquantance of a friend, who had a friend that had a friend who knew of a guy that drank at the same time but in a differant place with ex Roosters bad boy Todd Carney"

Just quickly... not defending him or anything (haven't even read the article) but we all seem to wrongly assume that an assault involves somebody being bashed up. Assault is the act of putting somebody into fear... not the next step where you batter somebody or attempt to kill them.

Under the act the police MUST make an arrest and MUST take the matter to court if there is an assault that goes under the category of family violence. Otherwise, you'll see that very few assaults lead to convictions. Assault could be:
                            - A 14 y/o prostitute and drug addict telling her dad to fark off out of her life... he's the primary carer and yells "well I'll cut off your money if you don't come home and get off the drugs!!!" That's 2 counts of common assault, and a pretty easy conviction too.
                            - 2 Neighbours hear a guy yelling and a girl sobbing. MULTIPLE common assaults there (can you imagine if we all called the cops when that happened?)
                            - A girl trapping a guy in a corner... he's 6'8 and solid so isn't scared... but as soon as he does ANYTHING to scare the girl, it's a common assault.

Not saying the laws are wrong, or that this wanker's innocent... just putting things in perspective. If te charge is a common assault rather than causing bodily harm, battering somebody or attempting to murder them... then probably the cops have no evidence that a battery has occured. This is a common lure because they'll say:
"Right you're under arrest for yelling at her, clenching your fist in anger, stamping your foot, stabbing her, running her over and throwing her off the gap!!!"
Because this draws out the textbook confession of:
"NAAAAH IM NOT GUILTY!!! I JUST YELLED AT HER AND STAMPED MY FOOT!!!"... there's 2 sure convictions for common assault due to a confession. Once that's through the system the cops can ignore their ficticious extra charges because they've gotten a conviction...

Again not defending anybody or condoning DV... it's one of the worst c4imes in my book... but when somebody is charged with an assault, it's usually just a minor domestic where somebody has called the cops in.

Best advice to all the boys out there is that if you live with a woman and an argument is starting to get heated, then fark off, get a beer with your mates, relax, sleep somewhere else then buy some flowers and make up the next day.

Jism that was some of the stupidest crap I have ever read. Whatever problems life has inflicted on you, rightly or wrongly, have left you a very bitter man. Let it go man, let it go.
