        That makes two of us.
Congrats on at least winning the NSW Cup which is something I'd hoped the Jets would manage.

Yippee for the threepeat in NSW Cup ... sounding like Parramatta now. Celebrating Club Championships and Sevens tournaments.

i thought for a few horrible moments yesterday that we had signed Branko Culina as the coach and Jason was going to be our 5/8.

And Bennett did not realise he had to coach the Jets as well as the Knights for Tinkler's money....

Mods, you can close the thread now !!

DES HASLER isn't going anywhere. He is poised to sign a three-year extension with Manly which, with bonuses, is worth more than $1 million a season.

Sea Eagles powerbrokers and Hasler have a ''handshake'' agreement after the deal was tabled this week. The parties will meet again tomorrow to finalise the terms and an official announcement is expected early next week.

Given that Hasler is already contracted for next season, the two-time premiership-winning coach will effectively be locked in until the end of 2015, becoming the club's longest-serving coach.

The development effectively ends Canterbury's attempts to poach Hasler. The Bulldogs had offered him $750,000 a season, preferably as soon as next year.

However, that was never likely to happen given Hasler's public pledge after last Sunday's grand final triumph that: ''I'll be at Manly next year'', and confirmation from Sea Eagles chairman Scott Penn that the 50-year-old activated an option in his contract to stay at Brookvale for next season.

The Bulldogs are now likely to appoint Jim Dymock as coach.

Following the premiership-winning squad's civic reception and parade from Brookvale Oval to the Novotel in Manly yesterday, the

team joined sponsors, board members and guests for lunch at Le Kiosk at Shelly Beach. The gathering of 60 paying guests got their money's worth when MC John Gibbs interviewed Hasler. The coach confirmed he would remain at Brookvale for 2012 but. when Gibbs pressed him about his intentions beyond that, the coach channelled Jerry Maguire, declaring: ''Show me the money!''

Hasler told fans at the parade how proud he was of his players.

''This week has been full of wonderful memories many players will cherish for a long time,'' he said. ''On behalf of the players, this is a small gesture to say thank you.''

Hasler's stock has further risen since Manly's grand final triumph and the new deal reflects his worth.

                          Or not.

Canterbury officials have snuck under the guard of their Manly counterparts and secured the services of Des Hasler.

In a stunning twist in the tug of war for Hasler's services, the two-time premiership-winning coach will head to Belmore in 2013 after serving out the final year of his Sea Eagles deal.

Manly officials were convinced they had their man long term after tabling a three-year extension which, with bonuses, was worth more than $1 million per season. However, the Herald has learned that the Bulldogs have responded by upping their initial $750,000 per year offer and that Hasler has agreed to terms. The Bulldogs will call a press conference for tomorrow to announce the news.

Following the Sea Eagles' civic reception and parade from Brookvale Oval to the Novotel in Manly yesterday, the team joined sponsors, board members and selected guests for lunch at Le Kiosk at Shelley Beach. The intimate gathering of 60 guests, who paid $1000 for the privilege, got their money's worth when emcee John Gibbs interviewed Hasler about his future plans. Hasler again confirmed he would remain at Brookvale for 2012, but when Gibbs pressed him about his intentions beyond that, the coach channelled Tom Cruise's character from the hit movie Jerry Maguire, declaring: "Show me the money!".

While Manly has done that, so too have Canterbury as Hasler's stocks have risen following Sunday's premiership triumph. Only Wayne Bennett - on a deal reportedly worth as much as $10 million over four years - will be able to command more once Hasler joins the Bulldogs.

Imadog, suggest you await the announcement from your club.

That "offer" from Manly is a joke.

It is just so their fans don't riot.
