Well it is in my opinion..
I totally agree. What I am really refering to is the quality of the game. Personally if the Roosters could win one premiership it would bring me more happiness than NSW winnning the next hundred series.

Only Queenslanders care about origin. And it was still the same when NSW were winning them, so it not sour grapes...

*Edit * - Don't get me wrong, I still love watching origin each year..

Exactly PTB - Queenslanders are crazy about it. We just don't care as much. A Roosters GF loss will stay with me for life whereas a NSW Origin series defeat is forgotten within a day or two for me. Like you say though, they are great games to watch.

Always give the QLDer's heaps at SOO time. Always the same comeback from them 'You're in QLD now so you should support the Maroons!".....'bout as much chance of that as me supporting woMANLY :/

Why? It won't be long and you may very well have half a dozen or more of the worlds best players being Kiwi's. If thats the case, you can no longer really call State of Origin the best against the best. As it is, its currently the best (Qld) against the 3rd or 4th best because in a lot of cases the 2nd and 3rd best players in a position might be Qlders eg. half back.

The thing that confuses me is that if Lyon doesnt want to play for Australia, why doesnt he just retire from rep footy?

part of a standard NRL playing contract is that you are available for rep footy

yeah they have to get special dispensation

there is supposed to be sanctions of they dont but the Clubs would outright revolt if they did I reckon so you get episodes like Matt Cooper being begged to be NSW Centre and giving it the big CBF

The Nzeders should lodge a complaint and claim the victory as Manly did have 25 players on the field with 30 secs to go
