Glad he isn't our problem anymore but I do feel for him. He can't do anything alcohol related without everyone jumping on his case - and yes I realise he has an alcohol problem and he is being given yet another chance etc etc but there are other players out there with addictions that are probably just as bad as Toddy Boys and they are not constantly scrutinised. Having said that am SOOOOO glad he is gone and hope I am wrong but it doesn't seem like a great start to his change of scenery - sounds like same sh+t different place! He was great in 2010 though wasn't he? Sigh.......

Every two years our players play like softcocked clowns. Every two years there is a scapegoat. First Freddy, then Carney, next Smith. I blame the players themselves. They need to harden up. Quit doing drinking ban bullshit as well .... that's for the weak clubs.[/I]

Newsworthy? Dunno... but I want the same scrutiny placed on him at the Sharks that he got when he derailed our season. We contributed cash to his lifestyle and if he doesn't care about that... fine. I just don't want him to get a free ride in the press just because he left our club.
He's newsworthy and that's why he gets paid the big bucks.

How is that rubbish newsworthy? Let alone posted on a public forum...what does he hope to achieve with this?
Integrity in journalism is dead, anything written, tweeted or said is done for attention, and attention only.
He could write that Carney's piss is bright red and he'd get press. Just ask Rothfield.

Why aren't you on Matthew White's case? Your head is probably so far up your arse that you have no idea what I am talking about.

Again....tell me what he has done wrong by having a drink.
....and note the comment "Todd hasn't really done a lot wrong this year from what I can see". We were in a similar position when we signed Carney yet still felt the need to changing the playing field with impromptu drinking bans. Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

That is bs brain. Carney said what anyone would to minimise his punishment.
You cannot go to prison for a misdemeanor regardless of how many times you commit it. This is what people have nfi idea about. It was a fn misdemeanor... unlike Matthew White who committed a criminal offense for high-range drink driving.
I recall the telecrap and several idiots on this forum who bagged roosters for their "lenient" treatment of Carney, went on to congratulate the Titans for their piss weak punishment of a criminal offense. It was a hypocritical disgrace.

His first encounter with the law was pretty bad anmd if he wasnt a footballer he wouldnt of got off -mind you he had to leave town.
The guy is a **** simple as that .What we warshipped was a piece of ungreatful shit he will not make it on the footy field in OZ.
He wanted a buzz now he is with Buzz .Cronulla's end is near.
I''ll never forget when at aCronulla game with Ghost we bought a few beers at the bar and the Cronulla fans were yelling at us "are we saving that for Carney" etc bla bla ,Ghost stood up to em all four of them .Lets see who is laughing now.Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

Drinking alcohol is a legal activity.
Sharks have no alcohol ban, nor has the NRL.
There was obviously no anti-social behaviour, it's the off-season, and people should be allowed to live their lives however they like as long as it's legal.
'Promised to reform'...reform what?...breaking club rules?
He's reformed, as the Sharks have no stupid and always-going-to-lead-to-trouble alcohol ban.
"Going out drinking" though is one of the 'risky situations' Gallop was probably talking to him about.

He breached club rules, was issued with breach notice/s, and was moved on.
Should he stop drinking alcohol? ...probably.
Should the Sharks manage him by surrounding him with new mates who'll have a 3 drink limit pact and obey and police it amongst themselves?
Yes.
