It's just for the start of the season, copy of what the NFL and AFL do - the match will sell out in Newcastle weeks before kick-off and be a massive success.

It's the NRL's welcome to Newcastle party for Benny Boy. Just to shove it down the Drag Queens' throats they are no longer the 'chosen ones'. That honour now goes to Druggoville Knights.

I'm betting we get to start off our season against the Vermin again, unfortunately. I'm so over starting our season having to suffer the great unwashed. Mind you it's a Vermin home game so I'll be watching it from home. I refuse to give either the Vermin or Scumdogs any of my hardearned.

Last time i checked Monday Night Football was pretty successful, the Thursday night game is a one off as Channel nine have the Cricket final on the Friday night and dont want it to clash.

Monday night Football sucks in my opinion.
I would much rather they try and fit in a couple more live games on a Sunday instead of the Channel 9 replay and scrap MNF altogether.

I agree, Monday night footy is BS, i get most matches live but mondays is a farking nitemare in the uk

An extra night of footy MNF is a good thing .. Not good for attendences but TV ratings are strong

Im not a fan of 2 games on Friday... seldom watch the 2nd game and its usually a crap fixture
