I do not want him here.

That said, if his protestations of "I have grown up" and "I have the fire I had when I was a kid" are true then the "right coach" will get that out of him. Like Carney before him, I'll believe it when I see it.

There are many things that Mr. Mason is guilty of during his career.

I can assure you though, that he had nothing to do with the whole Coffs Harbour fiasco.

There were, two high profile blokes involved. Both moved on from the club. Both still play NRL.

Also, the 'official story' - like all things that get caught up in the media frenzy - was greatly exaggerated.

Think more of what M.Johns was involved in, and you have something closer to the truth.

For me there are 2 incidents I can recount that typified him. One was watching him at training during the height of one of the many crisis and he led the way, focused determined and marshalling the troops. On another occasion during a match, and I think it was against the Roosters an all-in erupted, Mason chose to skylark with his Rooster counterpart rather than "assert himself". His leadership qualities were undoubted, his judgement not so much.

Aaaahhhh Willie ... we should be talking about you as being one of the greatest forwards the game has ever seen. Alas, you will be forever earmarked as the buffoon you became.

So many stories to tell and so many of them end with "if only ..."

Steve Folkes got it out him for plenty of years, Neil Henry got it out of him in his last season in the NRL. He's performed at SOO and international level... not sure what more you're waiting for.

Him to turn into Arthur Beetson, to be brutally honest.

            Mr. Beetson I respect, Willie I don't.

I didn't say he should be respected as an immortal just that he'd a handy signing for plenty of clubs.

He could be a great role model and mentor for Todd at the Sharks.

I should have been more specific.

Penrith is not a club.It is a bunch of hillbillie bong smoking bogans

And then there is the Vermin.

So no real club will sign him.
