  • 2012 Final Ladder Predictions Anyone?

    Being completely objective:

    WESTS-BALMAIN
    NORTH QUEENSLAND
    NEWCASTLE
    PARRAMATTA
    GOLD COAST
    MELBOURNE
    NEW ZEALAND
    ST.GEORGE-ILLAWARRA

    MANLY
    CANTERBURY
    SYDNEY
    BRISBANE
    CRONULLA-SUTHERLAND
    SOUTH SYDNEY
    CANBERRA
    PENRITH

I just can't see our outside backs competing this year. We are relying too much on the likes of Kennedy & Masoe staying fit to ensure consistent prop go-forward (both are severely injury prone and imho will miss chunks of the season).
I am a big fan of Pearcey but working with Anasta in the halves does not get the best out of him at all - Mortimer might be the go there. First injury that comes up in the back row this year i would get Braithy Boy the f**k out of the halves and into the No.11 or 12 unless Cherro is ready to go. If Cherro is ready to go, perhaps Anasta can instead be eased into a permanent 80 minute position on a 5 man bench. He can bark orders, sip gatorade and perform his inspirational captain schtik from there.

Friend to win player of the year by a large margin.

SKD and Leilua to battle it out for top try scorer.

JWH to spend a total of 8 weeks throughout the year suspended.

Moga to show plenty of promise but miss the back end of the season injured due to the rigours of 1st grade.

Btw, who the hell is going to convert tries if Anasta goes down with injury? Pearce? Aubusson?

Smith's coaching position to remain under a dark cloud throughout the year - though he will not be replaced until the off-season. His replacement will be either Matthew Elliot, Craig Bellamy or Mick Potter.

On a positive note, the Saints and the Rabbits will both have ordinary seasons!
At the end of the day - 2013 we will compete for a top 5 spot. 2012 is yet another f**king 'rebuilding year' it seems

Does anyone else want to have a go?

Parra the Titans & the Warriors will be in the 8.

I just dont think the Roosters can make the 8 but if all go's well in regards to injury you just never know. 7th or 8th at best IMO.

Place your bets; Titans will finish 12th, Roosters will finish 7th.. The Dogs will get the spoon! The rest won't matter, except the premiers;Sharks or Knights..

You must be the only supporter who doesn't refer to us as Roosters or Easts

I actually think we will finish 7th or 8th and sneak into the semis, but think your comp table order is fairly reasonable.
Though I expect Canberra to be mid table, Broncos to still make the semis even without Lockyer, Parra not a high as you've got them.

I think we have the worst backs in the comp.
I can't understand why Tigers are favourites for the comp???
              Parra to finish bottom 3.....again!

For what it's worth, here's mine:

                  Knights - Bennett factor
Storm - Bellamy usually finds a way to get them up there
Warriors - Cleary's gone but not forgotten, bit like Roosters 2002, with Ricky benefiting from previous coach & recruitment
Broncos - Good young players now have plenty of games under their belt
Easts - Good young players now have plenty of games under their belt, fair backline will benefit from awesome pack going forward (injuries permitting!)
Wests - Will have good season, not consistent enough to finish higher, will choke in finals as usual
Dogs - Hate to say it, but Hasler factor will get them into the 8
Souffs - Unfortunately new coach will improve their lazy culture, also Sandow's gone, crash & burn in Finals

Cowboys - Yet again JT will carry the team by himself
Eels - One of the worst forward packs in the comp, it will be funny watching Sandow keep the ball away from Hayne
Manly - Rats have deserted the sinking ship
Raiders - Expect Campo to play at least 4 or 5 games, Dugan similar
Penrith - Will miss Petero, rebuilding year for Gould & Cleary
Dragons - I'm actually going to enjoy going to our games against the Merge, for the first time in a few years
Titans - Love Carty, but he's flogging a dead horse with this mob, expect Prince to retire mid season
Sharks - They may actually improve, always nervous when we play them, naah spoon again for the Gummies!

Newcastle (Bennett and the Buderus factor)
                    Wests Tigers
Warriors (If they play for Maloney, they're a danger)
                    Penrith (Cleary and Gus combo)
                    Melbourne
                    Manly
Canberra (A healthy Campese, along with that backline and that forward pack are a dangerous)
Canterbury (Hasler will make them work)
                    Brisbane (Wallace will do enough)
St George (No Benny, No hope)
Roosters (we'll jag a few wins but unless an actually half plays for us, we're no hope)
Parramatta (Hayne magic in spurts plus last go round for Hindmarsh)
Gold Coast (tired old men from a tired old war)
Sharks (I'd put them higher if I thought Carney would stay sober)
Souths (No recognised halves, like the Roosters, a forward pack that has one or two decent players and Inglis who will only fire at SOO selection time)

                          Roosters 9 th

After losing some crucial games against lowly teams like the sharks and GC....we just miss the 8. A young inexperienced pack doing its best but not enough as an incomplete back line with no quality depth.sercomes to injury and a lack of cohesion and finishing skills to cruel us.

The good news is we still finish higher than souffs who miss out again.
Alcohol never solved any life problems.....then again neither did milk.
