Good timing, I just replied in the Pearce thread lol.
Should call Soward the cream, because it's rising to the top
Not bagging sowie here, but, do you think we would be performing the way he is at the moment at Saints if he was currently in this roosters firstgrade squad?
BTW welcome JB

At a football club, there’s a holy trinity – the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don’t come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques.

The fireworks at the Easter show are making more noise than the crowd tonight

Definitely not, his forward pack are doing the job. But all he ever needed was a good coach and leadership to excel, it could be seen very early on in his career. Pearce is the same, but he's an organizer, completely different type of player, Soward just needed to be let off the leash.
I could say with some great certainty that in the spate of close games we've had recently, he could have produced a game winner in at least a few of them. But it's all irrelevant when we can't do the job in defense.
Maybe sour cream, that little dance he does when he kicks goals turns my guts.
Hey did you see Shreks props pentathalon??? When he did "Sowards little gay dance"??? It was pretty funny.
Good to see you mate.
Yeah I watched it, was a good laugh. This morning on the footy show was a crack up with the remix song with Dell and Sowie dancing. But hey if it works, don't fix it
Good to be back, was out in the wilderness for a while, the form of the side is depressing me too much, I don't really want to come on a forum to discuss it lol

Yeah that little remix was very funny. I have to admitt Waynkerrs putting Del in charge of opening Soward up seems to have been a master stroke. You can see it when he plays and even when he speaks to the media, the confidence is sky high. Good on the kid.
Yeah the form has been shit. I made a post just before Melons closed that you were 100% this season with your predictions. Poor recruitment and no depth especially in the backline, no speed and old slow legs. Fark I wish you were wrong.

I wish I was wrong as well mate, but I always thought we over-achieved last year, this year has been building for a number of seasons. The biggest concern for me is our lower grades aren't performing either, we really have nothing to fall back on. It'll be a slim few years if we're going to build a side to be a force again, of course we can spend overs and build an above-average side in the short term, but it won't help us move forward. I hate the way the this club is being run at the moment, it absolutely disgusts me. Hopefully we can pull ourselves out of it soon.

IMO the only positives are some of our younger players have been our best. Jones just keeps improving, Pezz is becoming very consistent, Friends showing some decent signs, Symonds could be anything and that Waera-Hargraves bloke weve signed from woManly looks the goods. Maubs has picked up from where he left off last year, even Cherros looked dangerous at times. FPN has been a revelation. Myles should be our captain IMO.
8 blokes last week U 21 yrs old, and Moualli on debut at 24.
Its up to Pearce to step up now Bwaiffs gone. No more fallback to rely on, its time to sink or swim.
IF these kids can cause us to avoid the spoon they will gain alot of confidence for the future.
We need to spend wisely, get some depth, some blokes looking for opportunity, not blokes looking for a payout.
Perrett, Myles and Paea are seriously veterans compared to some of the blokes going around.
Pearce, SKD, both Aubusson brothers and Nuuausala are all in their 3rd seasons of FG (though this is the first season FPN has had an extended run), Cherrington, Friend and Jones are in their 2nd seasons, while Symonds, Kennedy, Ahern, Tuigamala, Tansey, Moujalli, Sisa Waqa and Stan Waqa all in their debut seasons for the club. Even Setaimata Sa, now in his 4th season playing first grade for the club, is still a rookie in terms of age and experience.
Plenty of youth and inexperience going around. The onus to lift our team should have been on Braith, Fitzgibbon, Mason, Myles, and now Shackleton. Really, Shack and Myles were alright but the others struggles quite badly. Not to mention Soliola's continued inconsistency, and a loss in form from regulars such as Paea and SKD.

Best summary ever about these two. Factual, and frank. Onya JB. Calling it how it is.
