  • NRL Daily launching tonight.

    http://www.nrl.com/nrl-daily-launche...4/default.aspx

NRL Daily is a half hour show focused exclusively on the daily happenings in the NRL, and will be available every weeknight in prime time on the NRL.com, across the Telstra Network on mobile phones and the Telstra T-Box.

Former Manly great John Gibbs will lead an all-star cast of rugby league luminaries, characters and analysts including Brad Fittler, Trent Barrett and Joel Caine, plus a roving reporter covering breaking stories on and off the field. Every aspect of the competition will be put under NRL Daily’s expert microscope, and all issues will be addressed without bias or agenda.

Every week throughout the entire season, NRL Daily will provide daily news updates, full round reviews and previews on the Telstra Premiership, in-depth player analysis, judicial news, team changes, Toyota NRL Dream Team updates, the latest betting markets, competition giveaways, Toyota Cup updates, plus all the latest press conferences and club announcements.

Beyond reporting the news, NRL Daily will also feature a variety of specialty segments looking at the game through the eyes of its many characters: segments such as Freddy’s Focus with Brad Fittler, Ref’s Corner with Bill Harrigan, Ins & Outs with David Middleton, and regular features from Joel Caine, Trent Barrett, and Andrew Webster. To further complement the in-depth analysis of the expert panelists, regular appearances from the game’s current crop of players will ensure that NRL Daily also reflects the game from the players’ perspective.

NRL Daily will be the go-to source for up to date NRL news, views and analysis, and compulsory viewing for rugby league fans, all season long.

NRL Daily launches tonight on NRL.com at 7pm.

Sounds like it could be watchable. I like Gibbsy as a host and you can never go wrong having Freddie as a comic relief.

    Chook.

It's fantastic. Simple, straight to the point & just the facts. No-one gets dressed up in drag & no-one bickering on the panel. And if you have a T-box you can watch it at other times of the day too. I missed it last night but watched it this morning at 8.30am and am just waiting for tonight's new episode. I don't feel so homesick now if I can watch Freddy 5 nights a week! I like Gibbsy too as a host. For an ex Manly player, he's quite articulate & fairminded.

Tonight's episode was a Rooster Fest. SKD was the sole guest with John Gibbs and he mentioned how his kidney injury was caused by an unnamed fullback kneeing him accidentally at training in the back after they both collapsed after reaching for a high ball. Gibbsy also spoke to him about his amazing ability to make the most tackle busts but then not being able to hang onto the ball. To his credit, SKD admitted the stats don't lie and he does need to work on his ball handling skills. Footage of him scoring 4 tries against Brisbane was also shown (I am still yet to see this game, have to order it from the online NRL archives store) as well as footage from THAT semi final against Wests in 2010. Then some footage of Freddy's charity evening held earlier in the week was also shown so it felt like pretty much the whole episode was devoted to us. Nice for a change to get some good press on panel show without buffoons chiming in with inane comments. It gets repeated a few times tomorrow and later this evening so I'm going to watch it again.
