  • Ray Hadley and Channel 9

I noticed Fatty was palywaly with Bolts on The Footy Show the other night and wondered why. Now they are co-calling the Broncos-Cowboys game. Of course this will mean Hadley's relentless attacks on The Footy Show will now come to an end and the 2GB callers will now be ringing to say how much they love the show.

Is there a pig flying somewhere?

His listeners will say they now love The Footy Show because of him! He's such a hypocrite. If you dislike what is essentially a workplace so much, why go join them? He bagged out Jake so much in 2009 and made accusations without fact checking first but then bought a racehorse with his manager.

It was just plain WEIRD hearing Travis Bickle on the tv last night. But I have to say HE CALLED THE BLOODY GAME. Not like the sheltered workshop that goes on whenever Gould and Rabs start gibbering together.

There was a time when Brohman was on the Hadley hit list ...... but when Frilingos died, he needed a comic/whipping boy for his radio show, Brohman fitted the bill perfectly and Raaaayy was quite happy to patch things up if it suited him and his career. You'd have to say one of the best moves he's made.

Would seem being palsy with Vautin, now suits his career !

...and I'm sure if one day it will be in his interest to be friends with Johhny Gibbs, then he'll make up and be palsy with Gibbsy too !

I hope he stays away from Johnny Gibbs then. I quite enjoy watching him and Freddy on NRL Daily. For an ex Manly player, Gibbsy is quite fair and articulate!

I heard Gibbsy & Brandy's sports radio show is being brought back on 2UE, don't know why they ever got rid of it.

Arty, that was part of 2UE's attempts to appeal to a younger, hipper market. That's why they brought in the tree huggers like Paul Murray and John Stanley. The abortive morning show of Mike Smith, after that whole union boss/slush fund/former union lawyer turned hand puppet for the greens interview debacle, showed it wasn't going to work.

While I think Hadley could probably tone it down a bit for TV he is a very very good caller. Much better than the "comedy" routine of Warren and Gould. Hadley just calls the play then when there is a break he will go for a comment from the others, that's the way it should be.

Whatever I think of Hadley's politics (which has more to do with his station boss than anything else) he can call sport well. That's what comes of being trained by Bill Collins and Johnny Tapp amongst others.

I actually think he is a really good caller, much better than Ray Warren and Voss. I just feel dirty and disgusted at myself for listening to him though.

He copped a real bagging from all quarters for his first call and must have copped the tip as he went much better last night. Didn't sound like he was calling an auction this time.
