THE LAST WORD
ANDREW ETTINGSHAUSEN has been on a publicity tour for his latest fishing show - but those being granted interviews have been carefully vetted. As a media performer, Ettingshausen is as good they get, but there are some questions from journalists he does not want to answer - this column has been waiting for months for him to return a phone call relating to some of his recent behaviour. It's an open secret in sections of the sporting media and among social writers that Ettingshausen's conduct has been far from acceptable in recent times. And it's caused huge pain to former Cronulla teammate and the man who was one of his closest mates, Paul Mellor. After years of friendship and shared family holidays, the pair are now sworn enemies. The matter is essentially a private one - but watching Ettingshausen on the hard sell and cashing in on his clean-cut image is more than a bit hard to take. Yes, I'm looking forward to the call from ET to hear his version of why he and Mellor have fallen out.
WTF???? I could speculate the obvious but I won't. Anyone know the word??? I remember rumors about his sudden retirement years ago. I love it when good guy images get revoked, like Juicy Price, hey ShandyAndy.
