  • Worst Coach of the century!

Since coming to Australia i've been catching up with my Roosters history.
Of course all here should remember our centenary year....that great milestone in our clubs proud hsitory.
Me mate was telling me about this bloke, Chris Anderson, who he swears was diabolical. Worse that johnny lang.
So for the Rooster centenary year he devises this master plan after having spent some time coaching yawnion in Wales. He schems and plots and decides that the game can be revolutionised by removing the marker in defence. I havn't seen any footage of this but apparently it did happen and Chris led us to 11 losses out of 16 and promptly quit citing stress mid season.
Wonder how much those centenary jerseys get flogged for on ebay.
    Go the chooks.

I find that prawns work better, this time of year.
Wait until around Anzac Day before using the Blue Pillies on a size 3 or 4 ganged set.
Be surprised what you will catch.

LOL. Since you're using the fishing analogy, is trolling the same as trawling?

Don't mind the lizards. You see they're dumb ambush fish that lie in wait for crap to get shifted off the bank at a lowering tide. Whats extraordinary and a little boring for the angler is they will return day after day, year after year to the same sand flats, despite their compatriots evident misfortunes. It is as if they have a collective memory that asks for punishment.

Wow. This is what I love about this forum, I learn new things every day. For instance, I didn't realize they have flathead in Canada!!!

Or have you learned about them in the couple of years you've been in Australia?

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure you weren't one of those pesky trolls we get on this forum from time to time. You're obviously genuine.

Welcome to the chookpen. And welcome to Australia, my Canadian friend!!!

Flathead are very, very good eating. Took a long time for the fish markets to realize that. Now their fillets cost $40 per kilo.

Just to clarify Anderson's master plan, he did not get rid of the marker, he got rid of one marker. i.e. wanted to use one marker instead of two.

Despite the folly of his part season with us, and I guess being a coach past his use by date trying to get back into the game (and failing) ...don't forget he is a premiership winning coach. That puts him ahead of a lot of others !

And he devoted a large portion of his life to the game despite ill health and unlike some coaches, never punched walls or threw chairs in dressing rooms.

But when the pay-cheques stopped floating in he headed to Swansea to get payed by another sport (a direct rival to his "devotional"). Also ill health, especially a weak heart, generally prohibits the performance of unrestrained fury

He did try no markers in some games. But mainly went one marker. We got destroyed up the middle.

One of the most insane game plans I've ever seen.

Only surpassed by some of Freddy's lucrative ploys (hi braith anasta at fullback)
