  • NRL Coaches Rating

For me this years premiers will be coached by Bellamy, Bennett or Hasler.
They are IMO the best 3 coaches in the game. I put Bellamy 1, Bennett 2, Hasler 3.

The next tier of coaches that are pretty good are Cleary, Griffin & Neil Henry.

Next tier Sheens, McClennan, Smith, Flanagan.
    Then you have Furner

    then Kearney & Cartwright.

Steven Price, Geoff Toovey, Michael Maguire to early to call how they will go. I personally cant see any of them ever coaching a team to a GF win.

My top 8 is Storm Knights Bulldogs Panthers Broncos Cowboys Warriors Sharks. Manly could spring a suprise on me.

On the subject on best coaches in the game today? No, I can't put Bellamy first on that list. He's had a bloody lucky run considering the Storm were cheating the cap for all those years and up until today, still have probably the 3 best players in the game in Slater, Cronk and Smith. It's hard to go past coach smiley just based on the fact that he's done it all in this game. Bellamy showed me a lot when he coached at SOO level.

Just a question would you like to see Bellamy as coach of the Roosters?

Coaches actually contribute very little to the success of a sporting team IMO.

If it were to replace the myth that is Brian Smith? Then yes. I'm not saying the bloke isn't a good coach. I just don't think he's the best in the business.

              1.Bennett 2.Hasler 3.Bellamy

I want to see how Bellamy would go at another club without Slater,Smith and Cronk. It's only been 4 rounds and I already think it looks pretty clear on who will and who won't make the 8.

Storm,Dragons,Manly,Dogs,Knights,Warriors,Broncos and Raiders,Panthers and Cowboys to fight it out for 8th.

                I beg to differ.

Jack Gibson turned the Roosters around when he coached, on & off the field. And IMO so did Sticky.

They bring spirit to the club, they know how to handle the boys & be a leader that the boys want to play for.

I really think Griffin from the Broncos will win a comp as a coach.

I know the Broncos are a State side but you still have to know what you are doing when it comes to coaching such a high profile club.

Started this thread earlier this year. I knew only Bellamy Hasler or Bennett would win the comp this year.

And for next year it comes down to the same 3 with Maguire being the only exception.
It is going to take Cleary about 3 years to get Penrith into shape, he is the next best after those 4.

                        It's happened before, never know.

I hear what you are saying STSAE but I cant see it happening next year. Im convinced that you need at least 8 harden first graders between the age of 27 & 31 in the team to win a comp & thats only if 1 of the top 4 coaches is at the helm.
