whats with the Johns hate? he is a champ, has a sense of humour, and isnt afraid to ask the questions the fans want to hear unlike every other host on tv. farrah couldve handled himself better, hes a big boy and a professional. NRL on fox by far the most entertaining and informative football show on TV.

Read JT's column in the Herald on Fridays.

That is interesting, intelligent league talk.

I read it, look at his analysis and his often correct predictions of teams' gameplans, and wonder why he isn't coaching our first grade side.

As for OP stating they like Ben Ikin?? Please, what a joke.
        I agree 100%.

I agree Blind Freddy. I honestly think that Jason Taylor could coach us to a premiership if given the chance and his column is great.

I would have loved to hear more about this!

Too true. If I recall all that happened was Warren Smith made a light hearted comment that farah got off easy after a serve like that, Anasta had a bit of an awkward chuckle and said Smith is a good coach or something similar, then the issue was dropped completely....

Would really have loved to see Anasta try and defend Smith from Geyer's accusations (or not)

My favourite part was when Johns asked Farrar the stupid question about the rumours that he and Marshall were feuding. Farrar rightly replied that those sort of rubbish rumours surface every year when the team has a few losses on the trot.

              Same garbage happens here.

                It was good TV..

Took me back to the Rex Mossop,Ferris Ashton days..

Better than all the pre-fabricated interviews we usually get..

I'm still undecided as to whether this new format is better than the old one. The new format has plusses and minuses.

I might be the only one, but I miss Gary Freeman. He used to provide a little light humour which would probably balance Johns and Geyer out a little better. Both are angry ants who tend to full on in their presentation.

I do enjoy the fact that they grill the guests more than they used to. But the downside to that will be that many players and coaches will simply refuse to be on the show.

Watching Robbie Farrah get totally pissed off was good viewing. And Braith handled the attack by Geyer on Smith and Jnr Jnr quite well. No surprise the Chooks get bagged most weeks - it's not as if Geyer nor Johns have any love for us.

And Paul Kent's hesitation as to whether Carney was 'boom' or 'bust' was funny - he was obviously thinking about saying something about Carney's like of a drink but decided better of it.

25 minutes in from the sideline Rex.

I actually liked it when Farrar suggested there were plenty of rumours about Johns himself. I don't think he liked that one too much.

My opinion of Matthew Johns is he's trying to make an impression but failing miserably, he comes across as a nervous wreck and wants to be something he's not. As I said - that's just my opinion. I'll give him a couple of weeks but I have as much time for him as I had for Kouparidiot, Anasta (as players), Tallis, Gould, Daley, (as commentators).

I thought some of the questions and manner in which he delivered them was disrespectful. Telling Farrah his team are soft was gutter daily telegraph style gutter journalism.
