When he made his debut he was thrown on in the 78th minute.. That was when Stuart had wood for Wingers on the bench.. Remember how often Eric Grothe would be on the bench and then later Todd Byrne. One game Todd Byrne spent the entire 80 minutes on the bench.

Lett's ears would scare off the kids .. and we wouldn't want that would we?

What happens if we let go of Towers and Earl and they start killing it at another club ?

The next day there will be a thread asking why we let them go, yet when they were here nobody really backed them.

I guarantee, nobody rated Lett while he was here. I didn't mind him as a player, saw some potential. Not really a player to spill tears over.

If we are getting Kearney as a coach however then a wiser buy would be that Chase Stanley. Great footwork, good pace, amazing hands ... his only problem is that sometimes his mind is just not on the job, ie Hayne. However i think under Kearney this kid would flourish due to the polynesian descent. He would cost a bit more than the average fringe first grader however he would be a walk-on in most backlines in the NRL. I don't think he has the patience to tough it out behind some players at the Dragons for the next 2 years.

hmm funny, their backline stocks are pretty good.

Maybe that's a sign Kearney is staying there.

Why did we let him go?
Lett like all the other ex roosters playing great elsewhere did not fit in, he wasnt a drunk and went to bed at a reasonable hour.

That attitude stinks and is not needed

We sit last on the table, the club is in tatters and you are defending the recruitment policy??

                  Are you on the board??
                  You should be.

Nah, lets get rid of Hannant, Harrison, Lett, Soward.
Lets not know what it means to nurture kids like Hodges and Winterstein.
                  Lets run last.
Not at all, I haven't defended our recruitment policy. I have openly bagged the failure to re-sign players like Monaghan, Tupou, Shillington, Plum etc All players who wanted to stay at the club but didn't. I'm not sticking up for management but I refuse to use the benefit of hindsight to bag them either.

I've heard the same rumors, doesn't surprise me, he's on about $200k/year at the dragons and he'll never be able to secure a starting spot in that side at the moment. They'd be keen to free up that cash and he'd be keen to get an opportunity.

                      This is almost certain.

I guarantee that I rated him and I can guarantee that I don't rate Earl and Towers. Lett was scoring tries and making line breaks left, right and centre in the lower grades at Easts.. Earl has minimal impact, Towers has some really good games but is very inconsistent and is continuously shuffled between Fullback and Halfback.

Earl has done VERY little of note in our U20's team, I was stunned at his selection.

Lett was, as Cockadoodledoo says, outstanding in our Flegg team, far better than Luke Towers is now. Towers is, along with the regularly injured but immensely talented Fine Moeakiola, the best of a relatively bad bunch. But Lett is a class above all of these players, and I believe is still the same age as Mitch Aubusson, FP Nuuausala and Setaimata Sa.

I would really love to see us sign this kid back, he can't regularly crack First Grade at Dragons, wouldn't be too expensive, has pace to burn, can break tackles and would revel outside a big powerful centre like Williamson.

I would take him back.. The guy clearly has natural ability.. The way he set up Soward was brilliant.. the in and away on the fullback and then the offload was class as was the break down the right hand side where he burnt the defender in front of him but showed the common sense not to throw a miracle ball as it was the first tackle.

The only issue is his ability under the bomb in defense, but I am sure we could do with Lett, what the Raiders do with Monaghan and Justin Carney - swap the bigger man on the wing if a high ball is expected in attack or defense.

That's right, if he was paired with say Williamson I am sure this could be handled.
