Same goes with Matt Duffie from the Storm, great player, fantastic under the ball and finishes off plays at the end of a very good backline. I'm sure O'Sullivan is looking at a lot of these players but the problem is they are all probably under lock and key for the next few years so we can't really attempt to poach any of them.
I would definitely be happy if we picked up someone who can just score in tight situations. Try sneaks like Roberts, Merritt, Low, Duffie, etc.

Out of all the young wingers we have Mack (Earl, Towers, Tuigamala, Moeakiola, Blair, Williamson etc. excluding Waqa, Perrett and SKD), who would you think has the most potential, and why?
And if you could buy a young winger from any of the clubs in the NYC, who would it be and why?

Williamson is a centre, so no go on that. I haven't seen Moeakiola at all. Earl has never been that good even in the NYC. Tuigamala looks a nervous wreck that can't handle the pressure of first grade in the way that Gordon and Mead have (although he does clearly have plenty of pace). Blair is a talent but to me is a LOT like SKD - tall, rangy, and a physical specimen, but his acceleration isn't too good. Great talent though.
Luke Towers, in 10 games this year at fullback/wing has made 5 linebreaks, 5 tries, 52 tackle breaks, 17 offloads, average 16 runs for 149 metres. He can also kick goals. In his brief 3 game stint at halfback, we have lost 1 game and won 2, his defense has been sound, he has shown to be able to pick his runs well, and know when to kick and pass, and has come up with 3 try assists and 2 linebreak assists - our regular halfback Brad Murray has, in 12 games, earned himself 6 try assists and 4 linebreak assists. I know he isn't as consistently devastating as Lett was in Flegg in 2004 and 2005, but out of who we have now, he has the best workrate (makes more runs than Earl), great pace, good linebreaking ability, and has ball skills.
Out of the others, well I don't really know if Thomas Ah Van, Bill Tupou or Joe Vickery have the physical qualities to make a first grade player, even if they have the try poaching ability. Gardner is already off to Sharks, and Jharal Yow Yeh may score tries by the bundle, but his defense and workrate are relatively poor. Fai Fai Loa is pretty much just like SKD - bomb target, and high workrate. Morgan, Jerome and Duffie look like good prospects.

Earl could very well become a Pat Richards sort of player.

Originally posted by The Mack View PostMate, Towers would do fine on the wing. Had experience there before, and Roberts played at fullback before converting to the wing.
