    Only 28.....

Sad for him, but personally I will only remember him for being awarded a try for a blatant knock on in the 2nd half of the famous 2010 GF stitch-up. Bill Harrigan, the video ref gave it. If you remember, there was one camera angle that clearly showed the knock-on into the rooster who tackled him. Bill quickly decided to not look at that angle again, instead showing multiple replays from different angles that showed bugger-all. Alas, "benefit of the doubt" green light.

From memory, that put the Illawarra side in front by more than 2 tries, a seriously, seriously good break for them (if that's all it was, a good break). Also from memory, their previous "try" was the one where Perrett I think was taken out of play illegally.

I don't have to remind you about the first half travesties.

Now that I think of it, I can't remember when they scored their first real try in that game.

I can't imagine, outside of harness racing, boxing or wrestling, that we will ever see another fixed match of such epic proportions again. I am not saying it was necessarily an anti-Easts thing, the most likely explanation would be a lot of money being bet on the steelers and the match officials protecting their investments.

There was a GF in the late 50s/early 60s, can't remember exactly, immediately before which Jack Gibson announced to his team in the dressing room "we can't win boys, Darcy Lawler (the ref) has been paid off". They didn't.

    Wrong forum.

Always highly overrated, could never overcome chronic knee issues. Even as far as contracting the potentially fatal golden staph in 2006
