  • 30 years of Uncle Nick

Today marks the 30th anniversary of when Nick Politis was appointed chairman of our great club.

30th of may 1993 is the day our club changed for the better because of the great man.

Can’t picture the club without him… Thank god I wasn’t old enough to experience those dark days before hand!

I agree with everything you said except that last sentence, unfortunately I’m old enough to remember going from good days to bad days then onto golden era days

They weren't as bad as you imagine. Thick and thin and all that. You still went to every game expecting them to win, and when they did win it was party time. Only real difference was that we sang Easts to Win in a minor key back then.

We love ya Uncle Nick! Is there a bigger stalwart at the club than him?

I don't think so, certainly not still currently active in the NRL

Without him there would be no Roosters as we know them today

Without Nick our club would have collapsed. Simple as that. He is the most important Rooster over the last 30-40 years, and definitely can stake a claim to being the most important Rooster in our clubs history. We all talk about the great players of our club, but the influence Nick has had is on another level.

Correct and without Easts, Muduck's Soopa league would have crushed the ARL, Noos Ltd went in hard at the time for the Roosters, knowing that the other clubs would have capitulated at our agreement.

funny though, if we had joined up...goodbye Bunnies, we would have been the City Club.

We are so lucky that we have a very passionate man who cares deeply about our great club and the people in it.

We are very lucky to have Mr Nick Politis, thankyou.

Greater than Zeus, Hercules, Ares, Plato, Pythagoras, Aristotle, Plato, Socrates, Spiros Arion, Nick Giannopoulos and Nick Kyrios combined.

                            The greatest of them all.

                            We love you Uncle Nick!

His association with the club since the City Ford days must be a near record for longevity in any sport around the globe, his vision and passion has set us up for the distant future even when he has gone which hopefully won't be for awhile.
