Good shout - this is the only feasible reason for his selection there. He has been terrible at centre, defensively and with the ball. Surely he can play centre in reserve grade though? Jokes aside he needs to learn the trade somewhere it won’t hurt us, so why not.
He is pissing off after next year (if not sooner) so I don’t understand us developing him in a new position when we have other blokes that could slot in seamlessly. I’m honestly baffled by Robbo this year.
We need a few boys to aim up and be at their best if we wanna win this weekend.Last edited by Qld Chook; 05-30-2023, 08:30 PM.

Imagine we lose to them. Currently have no confidence in our team.

We need that controlling halfback who straightens up the attack and plays less adlib letting Keary do hos thing at 5/8th. Did he not see the merits in that second half against the Dragons? Pick Sandon or even Hutch FFS and have some balls to put Swaarhelli back on the wing.

To be clear, I’d personally love to see Robbo successfully see out his current contract.
In saying that, I’m also very concerned with his performance over the last couple of years, particularly this year which has been exhaustively discussed on this forum. Picking players out of position and stubbornly sticking with obviously ludicrous selections is impacting the team’s ability to win games.
Moreover, Robbo sticking with depth players who filled in and busted their arses over the last few injury plagued years is admirable, but it is not helping the team to be the best that it can be. Up and comers are not getting a look in at the Roosters and we risk them leaving for greener pastures because the first grade squad is sprinkled with “loyalty selections”. Hutchinson and the Butcher boys fit this profile. Would these guys make the top 17 at Penrith, Souths, Melbourne, Sharks or Brisbane? I doubt it. We have better in reserve grade; eg. Whyte, May, S Smith.
Then we have the lack of consequences for ongoing poor form; Radley, Suaalii, Keary, Allen, Butchers, Hutchinson.
Then we have our ongoing lack of team discipline; dropped balls, unnecessary passes, penalties, 6 agains, sin bins, running into touch, forward passes, etc. I would have thought the coach should be working on this after years of the same old same old.
Games plans don’t seem to have changed in years. The Rooster’s Way has become a joke.
These are what I see as issues. The coach is 100% capable of fixing all of these issues and I hope he does, but will he?

I just think many are frustrated with his continual tinkering with the team and playing players out of position…
We are blessed every year with a gun roster thanks to Uncle Nick (minus injuries)yet Robbo seems to make the simple selections very difficult which in turn frustrates the fans..
Not sure supporters are waiting for his demise,I think it’s more wanting him to maximise the talent at his disposal!
