Blues should pick and stick. The player will learn from that game.Changing now may make it worse.

Teddy is not our problem.
Our problem is the rest of the team.
*Everyone* learning to play in their new positions.
Players out of position.
Players learning to play the game to first grade standard.
Skill level of *much* of the team not of first grade standard...mistakes galore in games.
Get Teddy a "too big, too strong, too fast" team to play behind, and watch him go.

He has certainly been a better player than a captain. Seeing him in the dressing room at half time he looked dazed, confused and silent. Furthermore I have never thought that the Robbo/ Teddy combo has ever been a good one. The longer it exists i fear it won’t be good for the club or coach.
1. He ran more metres than anybody else on the ground and had 7 tackle busts. Pound for pound he schooled Walsh in terms of stats and Walsh is the form FB of the comp. Those last 2 tries s*cked but they weren't his fault. He got us into a winning position with 10 to go and we farked it by conceding stupid@rse penalties!!!
2. Those who've been in the camp and dressing room all say that Teddy's a magical communicator and everybody goes silent to listen when he speaks. That's just how it is and that's why he's captaining Australia/NSW. Clueless at half-time? Fark aaaaawf! We got ourselves ahead and ALMOST won. The injury to Trbo was a turning point... not blaming Hynes but we had some bad luck late in the game. Yes Teddy fell over for one of the tries but it was a pretty much certain try anyway (which resulted from sloppy defence).
I get the frustration about losing, but calling for him to retire is a complete joke. I was at a table last night with people saying 'imagine if Trell was FB!!!!' I get the thought process they're going through but don't think the outcome of that would be a good one.Last edited by ism22; 06-01-2023, 09:07 AM.

Stats don't tell you everything and watching the game you could see Walsh fitting in much better with his own team
And that last try was very much Teddy's fault. Whose other fault was it? Collins for outleaping him? You could say others didn't get back quickly enough but clutching at straws if you think his teammates were more to blame. Teddy practices for those moments.

Really, really surprised with some of the comments on here. This guy has essentially been the best player in the game since 2018. Some of the things he has done for the Roosters and NSW are un-matched. That isn't to say you should live on past glory, and he is relatively down on form this year, but he's only 30. He hasn't suddenly lost his ability to play.
That was his worst ever Origin, but it's also probably the only Origin he has ever played below an 8/10. I remember Daly Evans playing a stinker of an Origin a little while ago, but lo and behold he's still the QLD skipper. Same should be true for Teddy. You don't judge a player like that on one night.
As a sidenote, it's pretty incredible how less effective Cleary seems to be in Origin. Even when he gets time and space to kick, and just can't seem to put them where he wants them. He was pretty invisible last night.
Also feel bad for Hynes. It's a thankless job: being asked to come on with 10 minutes to go and win the game for your team. If that's what you're picking a utility for, don't bother. NSW always seem to do this. You need to have an actual plan for your 14 that isn't just "Throw them on at the death and hope they do something magical".

Tedesco brought this seasons club form into Origin Besides half a game against St George ( where in the first half he was invisible ) he has been ineffective. Whilst not to say he cannot regain his old form the reality is at present he is a pale shadow of his former self
Now as for the fellow on here using on paper stats to say Teddy schooled Rhys Walsh You either did not watch the game or were full of craft beer and limoncello whilst watching in your man cave I would hazard a guess and say it was the latter. Walsh was continually outstanding under the high ball and slotted in seemlessly to the QLD attacking structure Sadly you could say neither of that about our TeddyLast edited by Andrew Walker; 06-01-2023, 11:09 AM.When you trust your television

NSW picked the wrong side. AGAIN. Hynes, Frizzell, Pangai, Hudson Young, Luai all failed to fire.
They had enough ball to win two games, and the almost criminal sin bin in their favor.
They can't run the same team out in game 2.
But are they willing to admit they stuffed up and make changes?
ofcourse Mitchell will be back if he's available, and that might get Walker a start at 5/8, and Cook back at hooker and Campbell Graham.... because they love combinations right?
so put 4 Souths guys in instead of none.
Is Leniu available for NSW?

Plus he plays dumb to his supports, doesn't use the hands enough and give them space. Always opts to use his own physicality to make the bust. His game needs to evolve to protect himself a little more, and use his mates to advantage. But can it?#We Stand with ourJewish community#
